I also think he needs to look into baffles/enclosures for the rear co-ax's....honestly, I would swap the rear to two 8" mid/woofers & run them mono; it does WONDERS for the sound staging
If he must have tweets in the back, please let them them be soft dome/semi-dome...preferably silk
Edit: for that matter, there was enough room behind those rear panels to fiberglass enclosures for a 10" sub on each side (from the short glance we got)
Btw, jason: if you are interested, I would love to show ya pics of my last kick panels...197X ford f250 ranger; did oversized 6.5's in kicks on a 65x2 & a pair of decent 10's on a 1Kd; while the boxes were .08 cu/ft smaller than I wanted, it actually helped the heavy pulp cones sound SO MUCH TIGHTER (memphis makes a fine sub, but this one sounded GREAT on kick drums & plucked/picked string bass)

Yup to spending money correctly the first time. Learned that lesson on the transmission in my chevelle. And the fuel lines. And gas tank. And cylinder heads. And transmission cooler.

If you ever swap out the carpet Zach, it helps to leave it out in the sun a couple hours before installing to help get rid of the folds and wrinkles a bit. Just a tip I learned.

Many businesses aren't allowed to open, thousands lost their jobs, people aren't allowed within 6ft of each other to prevent the spread, and many are quarantined in their house only leaving when they need essential items like food or groceries

I got a 78 truck as well and I’m struggling to get it to pass smog bc I got a new intake and carb...I had to install the smog pump too, how are you doing it !??
leave the carpet out in the sun before install, makes a huge difference.
Zac is the MVP of Hoonigan project car videos. Hert massively dropped the content ball on the 2j swap, soupy did too with the rx7, danger dan is excluded because of the level of bad assery of the camaro and scotto well, it's scotto what did we really expect lol.

go with StockInteriors, they are good people and make a super quality carpet kit. im sure theres also a squarebody repro carpet that is an exact match

ACC makes different levels of carpet. You definitely get what you pay for. I have the essex pile with mass backing, and it is about 5 times that thickness.
I agree. I have put 2 of their carpet sets in my 67 Buick's. They matched the carpet to factory style nicely. They color match was great. I never had an issue with mismatched colors. Sucks Zac and others had bad experiences with ACC.
Second this. I got the same as you with mass backing and the plush carpet, it's a million times the quality of what he is putting in
Carpet looks ok not bad. Just I guess it depends one the quality u want and also if your willing to put in the time.
Oh man, as soon as I saw the box from your carpet I was like NOOOOOO! About 3 months ago, I ordered a set of "OEM reproduction" floor mats from that company for my new to me 1990 k2500. The drivers side mat is already shredded and falling apart. They weren't that cheap either. 😪
Cheer up a little bit of Zack I think the front half turned out respectable for what kind of truck it is........ and the rear wheel wells look better with no carpet on them let's face it ;)
What front bench is that.? Looking for something similar to my -86 k5
I used them for carpet in my MK1 Rabbit and '01 Suburban 2500 and absolutely hated it. The Rabbits carpet was folded up with the dye still wet so it was half blue half black, sent it back on their dime.
It’s a 4x4 made for dirt road what is the fascination for plushy carpet, it’s just gonna get stained, meldew and smell. I ordered the vinyl/rubber from ACC, so far loving it, don’t even have to use adhesives but that’s an option. The technique, is to lay it out in the sun for a couple days to settle in. The good thing about carpet though it’s a hell a lot lighter maybe by 30-40 lbs lighter.
Now I put ACC Vinyl in my C20 and it worked great. Maybe I just got lucky or maybe the vinyl is better than the carpet. I dunno.
Instead of replacing the gross interior and finish building the motor on my burb I just watch Zach work on his square

I've experienced that carpet too with my 78 ford f150. Definitely did not fit smoothly at all
