Out of all of the Disney dark rides, Alice In Wonderland is not scary in person and it’s very whimsical. It’s a cute fun ride. Speaking of Alice In Wonderland, my now 4-year-old niece had an Alice In Wonderland themed birthday party for her first birthday party. My cousin/my niece’s father, hired an singer/actress to play Alice, and she was amazing! She nailed the British accent and she’s an amazing singer as well.

I don’t care if this is a silly little ride. When I and my brother age 32, and 34, still go on this ride when we get together to go to Disneyland, we have a grand old time just laughing and giggling because the ride is just hilarious. Just in how tiny the rooms/tunnels, cars, are, and how small the ride is. And the cars seem to turn on a dime, steering by the very front of the car a bunch of the times while only moving a couple feet forward. Lol. It just makes me laugh. So much nostalgia from riding it as a kid. I love all the funny little dark rides. Haha

Im 33 with a Disney pass. Alice and Peter Pan are the two rides that I must always get on. Age is only a number when it comes to enjoying some Disney Magic.

What flashes me back to my childhood most of all, however, is the way the "It's A Small World" ride SMELLS. It has a distinctive smell that has been constant since 1966 or so when I first rode it. That water. Pretty much ditto with Pirates of the Caribbean.

I think the smells are what activates memories for me. I agree with you, Just like how Star Tours smells during the Q and before you board the shuttle. And Space Mountain. I guess we can have a long list of rides that have a smell that activates my senses and memories. haha. What can I say? I love Disney, is the one place that all my worries of life disappear.

This ride has much improved since the original. It's great to experience more of one my favorite Disney movies.

I remember when I was a kid this ride terrified me, still creeps me out. I really don't like anamatronics. Something about the way they move *shudders*
glitchking2012 theres an actual name for that that I can't remember, it's a fear of things that aren't alive but pretend they are. I know Markiplier has that fear.
I looked the name up and its *Automatonophobia*
Same expect i'm scared of all dark rides because i think a murderer is behind an animatronic and is gonna shoot or stab me any second.

I remember when they only had one Alice animatronic in the golden afternoon scene and whenever I couldn’t see it I got sad. Now that they’ve added more of her, I’m very happy.
Me, too! It was a huge deal when they first put the Alice figure in when previously you only heard her voice. Everyone was excited when they spotted her and I was sad if I forgot or was looking somewhere else when the car passed her.
I miss Disneyland so much.

Thank you for sharing this... although I had been wanting to ride this since the 1960s, on my visit in 2014 I was unable to get to it after spending 1.5 hours waiting to ride "Peter Pan" (it had a temporary break-down). "Alice" had more than a one-hour wait time every time I tried to go on it, and we just couldn't afford to spend that much time in line. Now I know what I missed!

My favorite Disneyland dark ride, and I think the one most evocative of the actual movie. I think it is the only one in the world, Disney Paris has an Alice attraction but it is not a dark ride.
this ride seems to go too fast! couldn't keep up with everything
FtC Most ghost trains/dark rides are very fast paced.
The reason for that is because the current version of the ride, from 1984, replaced the older (and cooler) 1958 version, which had bigger, slower-paced scenes, although there weren't as many of them as there are in the 1984 version. The 1984 version, on the other hand, uses the same track but has more scenes, resulting in a very fast-paced experience.
FtC it's mostly due to the camera movements that make it feel fast paced.

I miss the old outside platform. It wasn't as wide, and was more fun to me.
Considering the sharpness and clarity of those projected images,it got me thinking...what if WDW's If You Had Wings still existed?
(and it was renovated using this technology,obviously)

TBH the loading area up until you go through the tunnel seems like a carnival ride. Overall this seems like so much fun. I love Alice In Wonderland and I wanted to go on back when u was there in 2014 but it was closed :/
Since Eisner left everything is in better shape and looks fresher.

What I don't like about this ride is it only cover's half the story and they don't explain why the queen was angry. It's just a half-baked ride and in desperate need of a reboot using today's show tricks. If I was Disney I would contract this out and leave the Imagineers to the newer stories. Example the trackless ride Winnie the Pooh at Disney World.
I'll never understand why this was never brought to The Magic Kingdom.
