you would need thirdage with divide and conquer settlements upgrade, its advisable to wait till we release all our scenarios in one download along with the upgraded settlements and units from dac for thirdage vanilla, its about 70% ready so maybe another month till we release it. but thank you for showing interest ^^.
Too bad the defenders just didn't had enough to hold them back in the end but they killed such an impressive amount for only two players. Do you happen to know how many Roharn soldiers were in those camps in reality? There must have been like 20,000 or more because they show up a massive force in Pelenor Fields.
Centaur_Warchief I prefer the orcs because of how much they represented the roman military system and was more organised than the enemies they faced. And in the movies their numbers are great, so great that they reached above hundreds of thousands! To control an army of that size they must've had great leadership and sub leaders to keep them from being a brainless horde!

This is one of the best Third Age defenses I have ever seen that didn't involve a city Apollo. A classic battle where evil masses up troops and good uses better tactics to try and overcome. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next vid.

These catapults shots remind me a custom map with a fortress in medieval II, I was the defender and after I sucessfully destroy their towers, the ennemy rush into the gate I was holding and they begin to push me back, until one of these OP barrel catapults fire in the middle of the bunch of guys. It leaves almost no survivors among the attackers in only one shot and I was like "wft just happened ?".
That's Elven general was such a badass, covered from head to toe in blood, everyone he ever knew is dead, yet he continues to single handedly fight of a swarm of enemies, cutting down numerous ones before succumbing to his wounds.
Awesome battle, but the defenders should have focused more on the blob of orcs on the ramp versus the ones right in front of the choke point at the end of the ramp

Amazing artillery work in this one. Those few shots that the defenders shot down into the valley were wasted though. They could have come in huge later.

Gr1nd0r it's not possible to notice everything going on while you're busy charging 6 units of cav into different positions and reforming your infantry. I did notice that i got shot by archers and that's why the other cavalry units run through the camp and attacked the orcs from there. And the cav units got about 250-500 kills each, can't remember exactly...
If the defender had protected his archers at 21:19 and saved his saved his cannon fire towards the end he might have won but still was a great battle I love this
i will once again reiterate.....i hate olag-hai.....so op.......regular trolls are ok, while they are strong, they can be killed by numbers fairly fast...but olag-hai are op as hell imho....especially cuz they can go up siege towers...........i have forbidden trolls at helms deep.....cuz that is all my friends do, is send trolls up the long wall, up the ramp, and hit the main wall where all my archers are, and just wreck everything
there should be a penalty for trolls that simply run pass enemy troops. Right now, they can literally just run through troops and get to crucial objectives
They problem with trols, specially the olog hai, is they can just run ignoring your frontline and kill archers or catapults or anything with no real counterplay.
Inside a war camp you will find the entirity of an armies equipment, this includes everything that could be used to continue the march of your troops to gondors defence. I believe the defending side did EXACTLY what any real army would do! if they had retreted to the high ground thats all well and good, but what if the orcs, waited for two or three days before accending the defences to find extremely tired, hungry, water deprived rohirric warriors without any more will to fight? -And that is what would happen, this was well done, thumbs up.
Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and about 30 Dunedain, if I remember correctly. In case you're still wondering. Through the Mountain, up to Erech Hill, and then to Pelargir where they defeated the corsairs and Aragorn released the Oathbreakers, rallied the southern Gondor fief armies who now had no reason to stay behind and sailed upriver to the the battle in Pelenor Fields.
These battles would be so much more entertaining if the defenders actually had a chance of winning! Why oh why do the orcs have such massive armies? Even using the terrain and tactics Rohan were never going to win which makes it pointless and boring!
As an idea for a future battle scenario you could do the battle between the Rohan cavalry and Isengard Wargs that takes place before the siege of Helms Deep :) That would be epic! Love your stuff man!
How were the defenders supposed to win this? even with 1k kills catapult and multiple 700+ kills archer units there were about 3k bad guys left. And custom battles put som any upgrades on units only low low tier trash not even cannon fodder tier units break unless a fucking Valar is running right at them
They had 13k units and we killed more than 11,6k which is far less survivors than the 3k you thought of. You must always remember that the winning side gets some dead units back which you can see afterwards in the "casualties healed" stat but the numbers are already added up to the stats.

Hey PA, in the book Aragorn got the Army of the Dead but they couldn't physically interact with the world, so he used them to scare the sh!t out of the corsair's fleet. Then manned the fleet with Gondorian/ Dol Amroth garrison's, and survivors of the corsair attacks.
I tried to defend on this map, but it always places the enemies up in the mountains. How do you adjust the army placement on the map to reflect what you show here? This has been a problem with many levels I've tried. It puts my deployment area outside my defenses or in poor locations on the map (sometimes smashed into a lake or mountain).
One thing i didnt like was the prescence of Harad and Rhun on the battlefield.Mordor is more than enough and maybe you could add the OotMm but even in scenarios Harad and Rhun were on the other side of the map of middle earth and there is no way they can reach Dunharrow just like that because there are numerous Rohirric towns and cities just to reach Edoras and Dunharrow is basically a few miles away from it.

you are right, trolls do balance.....its just they should not be considered infantry.....but i still think that the olag-hai are a bit to op
