hey everyone knows a little crue ,not everyone gets to play a 67 anything these days, really awesome shop ,although a little too rich for my blood these days
Great shop. Did some work on a few of my basses. Sad what happened a few years ago where a lot of his stock was stolen, I absolutely hate thieves and it's very hard to stomach as we all know how hard we have to work for our gear. Great episode.
I'm going back to Ireland for a few months this fall, I'll definitely be checking out this store(and a few others of course). This is how a shop should be!
WOW that is really cool. I knew the owner of a store where I live and he had a left handed 1969 Les Paul that I loved. He wanted $4k USD for it as I remember. I asked if I could make payments on it and I would have it paid off in like 2 months, and he was like nah that ties up my money. I was so bummed.
@@twintriode it has to be viable for him Business wise... You can't ask a business to tank itself as a favour to you.. you know? Besides if you can't get 4 grand credit from a bank or online lender like zipmoney.. you've got no business asking a vintage Les Paul dealer for credit for an absolutely luxury item. "Buuut I waaaaaaaaant iiit!" 😩 😉
My mate and I went to Bray yesterday to check out your last recommendation. Fantastic shop with a great selection, we both are strongly thinking of ordering a charvel from them.
I love these videos and your down to earth not overprouced vids are a breath of fresh air amongst all the fakeness of the internet. Love that Pensa, that was crispy tone any strat guy can dig
Great video man! As an American it is very interesting to see what guitar shops are like on the other side of the pond and how region can affect the market. Also very nice choice with Uncle Tom's Cabin at 12:42 \m/
Pedals are like old video games back in the day, always buying new ones because there's so many and they're so different, it's halfway affordable to collect, and people buy and try so many but usually only find a few that they like. Pawn shops, swap meets, yard sales always have them
Big thanks to Jimmi! Man all those songs you were playin got me motivated. My Favorite was the Old Gibson 335 but I would leave it modfied for sure. I love to keep the older stuff stock but those were great mods and I loved the switch.
I completely enjoyed that video! I been waiting for Episode 2 and wondering when it was going to come out, checking to see if I missed it. No, you didn't take too long, I was just being impatient. Looking forward to more in the series. Well, hoping there will be more. It's not just the guitars but the personable side in the visite of the store. Different instruments and playing is great with the connection with the owners' store people whatever, It's cool!
Jimi’s Shop was amazing! No shop carries everything I am an old rack guy, so I never expect to see rack units in a shop, but it’s still an awesome shop!
I got my mk ll fom Rudies, left handed one's are a little more hard to find and had to buy it new. This was 2004, i think i waited about 9 months for it to reach the UK. It was an Arm and a Leg lol but it was presented beautifuly. I'm using a Gatsby at the moment from Gordon Smith, made in the UK and i like to buy from makers in our Hemisphere. I urge you to try one if you ever get the chance, the thing virtualy plays itself. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Mate, I've only just discovered your channel now, and I've been missing out! Fellow Irishman, and musician, looking forward to binging the vids, great stuff. Shane
There's a shop in Drogheda (or is it Dundalk? Coming from Derry via Tryone I get mixed up) with some great items and not so great prices. Carlsbro Top amps for more money than I've spent on some cars!
The late Ed King (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Strawberry Alarm Clock) was an endorsee of Pensa Suhr guitars back in the day. Until I saw/heard Ed playing one, I’d never heard of the guitar brand.
I never knew a place an Ireland had so cool guitars and a really cool guy playing cool riffs playing the cool guitars. Also thanks for playing Uncle Tom's Cabin, its a really good song, I'm a big Warrant fan as well
That ES was nice! I was bothered by th poorly matched timber one that Explorer the whole video though! Bad choice for a seam as well, arghh cannot unsee ;) Cool shop.
Depends on what your looking for. Some things just aren’t stocked by any local shops. Mesa Boogie amps are a good example. They are very hard to come across. If you want one new you’ll likely have to order from larger retailers abroad.
Yes I did play Motley Crue on a '67 ES345 😅
Here's Jimi's website if you'd like to take a closer look at some of the guitars
www.jimismusicstore.ie
Live Wire works on everything
Jimi comes across as a genuine bloke .. cool shop ..
I think if Jimi had a better website he would sell a lit more gear ... 😎
Enjoying the series 😎
I was pretty sure I heard kickstart....that charvel was gorgeous! Then you threw down some warrant on the Martin n hadda laugh
hey everyone knows a little crue ,not everyone gets to play a 67 anything these days, really awesome shop ,although a little too rich for my blood these days
Jimi seems like the kinda guy you could talk gear with for hours. Seems like a great guy
Yeah I spent about 3 hours there for the video.
As someone who lives in Ireland, I had no clue a place had so many sick guitars. I'll definitely make sure to visit Jimi's
Didn't realize u live in Ireland bro 😊
Loving this series, great to see brick and mortar shops still thriving and to see the personalities behind them
Top notch service from Jimi's. absolutely one of the best guitar shops in Ireland
Great shop. Did some work on a few of my basses. Sad what happened a few years ago where a lot of his stock was stolen, I absolutely hate thieves and it's very hard to stomach as we all know how hard we have to work for our gear. Great episode.

Bought one of my most prized guitars few years ago off Jimi, he took it off display for almost two weeks for me and kept to his word, really cool guy.

@@lueysixty-six7300 Thanks for the tip. Where were you my whole life?
My mate and I went to Bray yesterday to check out your last recommendation. Fantastic shop with a great selection, we both are strongly thinking of ordering a charvel from them.
that Pensa is to die for...
It was very nice and it did what it was designed to do, it sounded like a les Paul and a strat.
I really loved that Pensa. A nifty bit of guitar history, the begininning of the super strat!
I've only ever seen those for sale in Pensas shop itself in NYC so probably a rare find, sounded pretty great too!
Great tone, nice clean from singles and screaming bridge. Better than a Strat imho, i am a Fender guy but Tele.
That was fantastic. You really captured the vibe of Jimis there. Especially the banter with the customer over reversing the mods. World class shop.
Enjoying this series even though I'm not a guitar player. So many guitars, so many choices!
Ugh he's got a black Orange AD30 head with matching cab. I want.
Loving this series. Jimi seems like such a great guy. My vote was on the 345. I love me a good vintage semi-hollow.
I love these videos and your down to earth not overprouced vids are a breath of fresh air amongst all the fakeness of the internet. Love that Pensa, that was crispy tone any strat guy can dig
Really cool shop that i would've never found out about without this series
I liked Jimi. Right to the point. My kind of guy. 👍

Class video, that Pensa's a thing of beauty.
Oh wow the man with the luscious hair and guitar skills uploaded and I'm early!
I love Jimi's. Bought a number of guitars from there.

I’ve seen some rack stuff in Jimis before.
The day I was recording he had an old Marshall JMP1 racku
That’s awesome! I am glad they aren’t snubbing good rack units, when the jmp-1 came out purists hated on it because it was in a rack!
Impeccable taste there! There certainly are some hidden gems......great shop.
I'm loving the series! The Pensa was my favorite from this episode, it sounded and looked great
I feel like I could pick you out of a blind lineup just by hearing you plan. Something your style is unique, and I always notice it.
Whoa the Parker sounded brilliant, so warm
Great shop. Used to be shops like this everywhere at one time. Cant beat the personal touch.
Love the series! Keep up the great work.
Nice !!!
fave guitar was one that wasn't played, The SG Standard. I love those.
Fave clip, Uncle Tom's Cabin on the Martin. Great track.

My favorite by far was the Charvel at the end
What a looker
Really liking this series so far
Mate, I've only just discovered your channel now, and I've been missing out! Fellow Irishman, and musician, looking forward to binging the vids, great stuff.
Shane
If you get a chance, check out Emerald guitars! They make really cool carbon fiber guitars in the northern part of the country.
Enemy territory!
2014 LP. I have one. Great guitar.
That Martin acoustic sounded sweet
Very cool. I liked both shops, but especially Jimis. Loved that Pensa. Very cool. 🤘♥️
I like how you seem to have gone out of your way to record isolated guitar audio rather than just use the camera/phone sound.
The Slide Couch sounded great!
I'd never find me way outa there...all those pedals!!
Nice shop.
Wow, Jimi's is a great shop. I have not sen anything like that in a small shop where I live in the US since the 1980's
Oh man, that Powerslide looks so cool. LOVE that ES too!
There's a shop in Drogheda (or is it Dundalk? Coming from Derry via Tryone I get mixed up) with some great items and not so great prices. Carlsbro Top amps for more money than I've spent on some cars!
Thanks for the video, am definitely going to have a look there, had never heard of it before 👍
Legend

Your really good at tapping dude
I'm so glad you took that Parker for a test drive!
I can't wait until you go to Limerick. I want to see footage of the Milk Market.
Really cool video series, I'm excited to see more!
Places like Jimi’s are my favourite type of shop. I could sit in there and yap with Jimi until he kicked me out.
Cool looking shop. Never seen so many used pedals 😁 Don't think you can get away with that Paulo Gilberto Mexico riff though 😉
Love Jimi’s 👏👏👏
Awesome shop, I wish I could visit it one day.
That Pensa! But also, that Les Paul. And the Gurhrie Govan are the three that peaked my interest.
That Parker Fly was sweet. Would have been tough to hand that one back.
Any chance of going to Cork?
POP!
Pensa, Parker and Guthrie Govan sig all made me drool. Nice stock.
I never knew a place an Ireland had so cool guitars and a really cool guy playing cool riffs playing the cool guitars. Also thanks for playing Uncle Tom's Cabin, its a really good song, I'm a big Warrant fan as well
i live in south america, so there's little chance i will ever even go to ireland, yet, i really liked the video!
Loved seeing the Pensa. Loved hearing Uncle Tom’s Cabin!
Nothing sound like a Les Paul🤘🏻
Enjoying the videos man. Cheers.
What drive/fuzz were you using on the 345?
I rather liked the low-fi nature of the breakup on the first thing you played on it.
whereabouts in Dublin is Jimi's guitar shop?
South side, specifically Walkinstown
Looks like a cool time with a cool guy. (=
What a brilliant shop
I love gibson les pauls, planning on buying a les paul custom soon in a unique finish!
More basses??
what a lovely shop!
very cool stuff in that store indeed.
I've been hoping to convince my parents to get me a new guitar for my birthday or Christmas and this series is deadly 👍👍
What was the most comfortable guitar for you to play that you tried? What was your overall favourite?
Personally I really enjoyed the feel of the Parker Fly but I also liked the pensa and the Guthrie charvel a lot too.
7:12 anyone know what his playing?
Def Leppard- photograph
Wow that dude had some really nice guitars in there.
And he actually had a lefty or 2 lol
Two episodes in and still no Power Sound Guitars/Bait n Tackle?
Thumbnail guitar gets my vote
That Pensa was awesome!
Another great video. Cheers dude
What are ya playing at 1:50?
A variation of the Santa Cruz under the gun riff
@@KDH Noiiiice. Haven't heard of them before.
That first fif is fucking sick!!!
and nice playing bro awesome!!
You're a very wonderful player 🤘
That ES was nice! I was bothered by th poorly matched timber one that Explorer the whole video though! Bad choice for a seam as well, arghh cannot unsee ;) Cool shop.
Cool store and awesome guy
How limited is your instrument supply there, do exhorbant shipping prices make local the better option?
Depends on what your looking for. Some things just aren’t stocked by any local shops.
Mesa Boogie amps are a good example. They are very hard to come across. If you want one new you’ll likely have to order from larger retailers abroad.
@@KDH I see Jimi has a couple of second hand ones so anything's possible!
I just order from Thomann. 🤘😎🤘
that guy is a genius
I wish I could get that modded one. It's better that way by a lot.
I thought that was a Suhr from the thumbnail - cool story!
primo. he had a black trini. sick guitar
think my fav was that dw red kit
Good one!
Holly crap like a kid in a candy but guitar heaven
My favorite were the Gretsch that was left of that LP
You weren't wearing enough tassels to play the Paul Gilbert piece! ;)
so rockin kool
Shoulda tried 'Going for the one' on that Slider.
