Personally I don’t like having a super weak bench in case of injuries and difficult fixtures, plus the fact you have to play Henry every week isn’t great. I’d personally not have one of Salah or Trent to improve your team, but if you’re set on them both I’d downgrade a player by 0.5 like Jesus to Nkunku so you can upgrade Baldock to 4.5 like Guehi to rotate with Henry and have at least one decent sub
What do you think of Ashley Young with Everton? 4.5 defender. Might be a question mark over whether he starts but thinking he could play left back or maybe even right mid. With the way Dyche plays, a lot of their attacks will be based around crosses/set pieces. If he plays he'd be likely to be on at least some of the set pieces and possibly even penalties Potential for assists from crosses when DCL plays.
With Gabriel, Saliba and white, is it not worth waiting on them to see where timber fits in. He has played a lot of CB and recently RB. Could there be a rotation risk for all 3? White RB, I think Saliba is the best CB also is Gabriel a risk? Zinchenko also a risk, so that’s why I’ve gone Ramsdale as a way into the Arsenal defence nailed on
Also check out cheaper players so you can afford more expensive ones in the team. Justin Kluivert, Watkins, Bryan Mbeumo when Ivan Toney has been suspended from all football, Bell 4,5, Gross 6,5. I think that Kane can score more goals than Haaland. But I have both Haaland and Kane in another fantasy competition in Sweden. They are very expensive there too, but will score goals. I have Haaland as captain but may change to Kane if he produces more goals.

I see you always include premium players in your drafts, could a better overall score be achieved by selecting more 2nd players? So no Sala, Haaland or Kane, but more players who can get 200'ish?

I think Trent is overpicked tbh. Too many early fixtures where you'd expect him to lose the clean sheet. Even though he's attacking you still need clean sheets to make it worth it.
Im not getting the Phil Foden hype and why hes in so many teams...been a troll last few seasons and will continue to be rotated. Nathan Ake is definitely worth inclusion though...him , Dias and Akanji are the defensive mainstays.

That's 5/8 games with a good to very good chance at a clean sheet. By contrast here's evertons and their probability in the next 8 games. Fulham (low prob clean sheet), aston villa (another low prob), wolves (50/50 chance), sheffield utd (first game where i see them having a high chance at keeping a clean sheet). Arsenal (near impossible for a clean sheet), Brentford(low prob of clean sheet), luton (2nd high prob). Bournemouth (slight edge for a cs). So thats only 2 good shots at a CS and 1 okay one, the rest are very unlikely. Thats a 3/8 at best. Pickford is overrated at everton. Might not be his fault. But his save to shot ration is horrible. He'll be in the top 3 keeper for least saves to shots ratio come end of the season.

Too many “FPL experts” who are sheep and have the same 90% of players all 15% ownership or more… thats not how you play FPL Same as all the “experts” put Neto in last year… anyone who actually followed and understood football knew Neto was a terrible option.
Salah was the only player I had for every GW last season, few times I nearly sold him but he repaid my faith in him towards the end of the season, just consistent points, I’ll have him again for the start of this season
Feel like Enzo is a solid option as a 5m midfielder that's not getting talked about a lot, he should have regular minutes and can be more forward-focused once they get Caicedo in as well
I like your videos Andy and you have a great approach for these in terms of trying to spot trends. Would flag that you should be wary of tweaking the drafts / recommending changes to just end up closer to what you are currently on; instead try take them in isolation!
Looked into a Salah Trent Haaland draft of my own that I somewhat like, would mean having Salah over Rashford, Martinelli over Saka (unless I can somehow find .5 but don’t want to drop Estupinan for a 4.5) and DCL over Jesus Feel those 3 have a higher upside but a lot more risk involved especially with DCL Did an average season points with it coming out to Salah 250 (which he can easily surpass), Martinelli 185 (could very well be lower or higher obviously but expect him to start most so went in middle) and DCL 95 (very low if he actually stays fit) = 530 Rashford 180, Saka 190, Jesus 140 (could be higher or lower depends on his poor finishing and availability) = 510

I'd picked the 2 most popular forwards, 3/4 of the defenders (no Trent) and all 5 of the most popular midfielders before I saw % ownership stats. Always gets more interesting once the season starts but I can't remember a more seemingly obvious starting xi. Feels boring.

@@jamesrushton816 i think ownership plays a lot on our minds and rightfully so. Martinelli, Odegaard, Foden, Grealish, Maddison, Son, Porro and even cheap differential like DCL or Wissa have the potential to do well over the first 5 gws and outscore template options like Mbeumo, Mitoma or Saka. Of course the security is there with these picks, but you can go different without being widely off the mark for the sake of it.
I somehow have to get Son, TAA & Haaland in my draft. Spurs will play a lot more attacking this season and that plus him playing fully fit will see Son likely return to form. Can see him getting big points.

I have 96% team rating with 3 Crystal Palace players as a Crystal Palace supporter, should I go for less palace players for potentially a better score or should I play for the thrill even if I want to top my mini league?
Never play FPL with any sort of sentimentality or by supporting your side. Do what will make your team better even if it means removing the Palace players. Though Palace are going to surprise many this season. I think they will be a top 10 side. Best of luck!
I'm also putting Haaland, Salah and TAA in my team so having Ferguson in, in theory makes sense to me. It's a decent price for a forward and know he can score. Compared to other choices Ferguson is an easier one to make right now.
Alongside a salah+trent draft, can you also show us what your salah+no trent draft would look like? I'm currently sitting on a 352 haaland salah, no trent draft. Highly reliant on Salah doing the business though
currently the same. salah will out point trent we know that. it's what u can do with the money with no salah but I'm happy with my midfield and a attack just now anyway
I made a draft using some of the most common players on these lists Pickford (Forster) Gabriel, Trent, Esupinan, (Lamptey, Holgate) Salah, Saka, Mitoma, Mbuemo, Soucek Haaland, Jesus, (Surridge) Lots of great players in the starting team, but if any of them don't appear then it's very possible none of the bench players will play either.
Zinchenko is a rotation risk with Timber coming in. Arsenal can invert the right or left side now, and will do so based on availability and match ups. They won't play Zinchenko + Timber at the same time often, preferring to go Zinchenko + White/Tomiyasu or Timber + Tierney/Tomiyasu. Gabriel and Saliba are the best choices, Gabriel probably the most nailed as White can cover Saliba who might get eased back after his injury. Tomiyasu won't return until September most likely.

12:30 I think if Walker ends up going Bayern, and MCI do manage get Pavard and Gvardiol. I think the defencs will line up as: LB Gvardiol LCB Dias RCB Pavard RB Stones. Then Gvaridol, Dias, Pavard will be the back 3 when Stones moves into RCDM in possession. (obviously there will be some sort of rotation cos it's Pep, but I think that will be their strongest back 4/3
Disagree - Pep tried having Stones move into midfield from RB before last season and he was getting caught out in transition because the distance to cover to get back in position was too much. Having him step in from RCB works much better cause it's a lot easier for him to drop from RCM to RCB when City turn the ball over

I just put Pavard RCB as I saw he said he wanted to play as a CB not RB and Stones is already playing RB for City. (could well be wrong, but that's just why I put it like that in my comment)

If Chelsea get Caicedo then Enzo could be a good shout. Also with Caicedo I would feel much more confident going with Reece James or Chilwell

@wolverine343534 Same here, decided to switch to 3 at the front with Haaland, Jesus and Ollie Watkins, I think I'm more comfortable with it this way. If Jesus or Watkins underperform I am bringing in Nkunku for sure and am also considering Chilwell, although I won't take a hit for him

I'm surprised people feel picking Salah means missing out on the good Mids. Here's my draft, I'm not sure I'm losing that much elsewhere (I'll live without TAA and Shaw/other £5.5M defs)

DF: Gabriel, Estupinian, Pau Torres, Botman, Braithwaite (any 3)

I'd picked the 2 most popular forwards, 3/4 of the defenders (no Trent) and all 5 of the most popular midfielders before I saw % ownership stats. Always gets more interesting once the season starts but I can't remember a more seemingly obvious starting xi. Feels boring.

no chance. there are so many viable options especially gw3 onwards. one of the most splitbgw1 teams i've made
@@dr.strangelove4665 obviously with fixture swings down the line peoples teams will change. I’m just talking about getting the 11 best players and maybe one decent sub. On paper, seems clear to me who they are.
@@jamesrushton816 i think ownership plays a lot on our minds and rightfully so. Martinelli, Odegaard, Foden, Grealish, Maddison, Son, Porro and even cheap differential like DCL or Wissa have the potential to do well over the first 5 gws and outscore template options like Mbeumo, Mitoma or Saka. Of course the security is there with these picks, but you can go different without being widely off the mark for the sake of it.
I somehow have to get Son, TAA & Haaland in my draft. Spurs will play a lot more attacking this season and that plus him playing fully fit will see Son likely return to form. Can see him getting big points.

@@ardioriordan6228 I’ve finished my team except the Son vs Rashford debate I’m really unsure I think son is definitely the safer option however if rashford continues his great run of form from back end of last year then you’ll kick yourself for not picking him I also think Man Utd are a stronger team and made good signings think they will definitely score more than spurs but will they come from rashford is the question

I have 96% team rating with 3 Crystal Palace players as a Crystal Palace supporter, should I go for less palace players for potentially a better score or should I play for the thrill even if I want to top my mini league?
Never play FPL with any sort of sentimentality or by supporting your side. Do what will make your team better even if it means removing the Palace players. Though Palace are going to surprise many this season. I think they will be a top 10 side. Best of luck!
I hope Foden gets a good run in the city team, last season he had some great link up play with haaland.

I'm also putting Haaland, Salah and TAA in my team so having Ferguson in, in theory makes sense to me. It's a decent price for a forward and know he can score.
Compared to other choices Ferguson is an easier one to make right now.

Alongside a salah+trent draft, can you also show us what your salah+no trent draft would look like? I'm currently sitting on a 352 haaland salah, no trent draft. Highly reliant on Salah doing the business though
currently the same. salah will out point trent we know that. it's what u can do with the money with no salah but I'm happy with my midfield and a attack just now anyway

My overall team rating goes down from 96% to 91% when I take out Pickford for Onana 🤔
I haven't double checked but it might be that Onana's minutes haven't been updated yet to reflect his potential.

Salah, Saka, Mitoma, Mbuemo, Soucek
Haaland, Jesus, (Surridge)
Lots of great players in the starting team, but if any of them don't appear then it's very possible none of the bench players will play either.
Salah at 7% is pathetic. He's locked in for me.

Zinchenko is a rotation risk with Timber coming in. Arsenal can invert the right or left side now, and will do so based on availability and match ups. They won't play Zinchenko + Timber at the same time often, preferring to go Zinchenko + White/Tomiyasu or Timber + Tierney/Tomiyasu. Gabriel and Saliba are the best choices, Gabriel probably the most nailed as White can cover Saliba who might get eased back after his injury. Tomiyasu won't return until September most likely.

Do last seasons points not count for anything? Like when you said Ben White wouldn't be a good option but he got decent points last season.
Points don't tend to be the best predictor. There's not a huge amount that Ben White offers for 0.5m more imo.

Why would you want Onana? I'm happy we signed him, but not because of his defensive skills. I'm even considering taking Shaw out of my team, because I fear our defense would be a bit more shaky in the beginning.
Why would it become more shaky with exactly the same defenders and a better GK?
@@croissantpower Better keeper, not a better shot stopper, and he does play with a higher risk than De Gea (looks like he does anyway).
@hikkespett less prone to mistakes as De Gea has been recently and his passing will stop opposition winning the ball back so easily, as they have been from poor passing out the back from De Gea

12:30 I think if Walker ends up going Bayern, and MCI do manage get Pavard and Gvardiol. I think the defencs will line up as: LB Gvardiol LCB Dias RCB Pavard RB Stones. Then Gvaridol, Dias, Pavard will be the back 3 when Stones moves into RCDM in possession. (obviously there will be some sort of rotation cos it's Pep, but I think that will be their strongest back 4/3
Disagree - Pep tried having Stones move into midfield from RB before last season and he was getting caught out in transition because the distance to cover to get back in position was too much. Having him step in from RCB works much better cause it's a lot easier for him to drop from RCM to RCB when City turn the ball over
@@archiemarshall4368 Doesn't matter whether Stones or Pavard is RB or RCB, that's just what I think the back 4 will be, and the back 3 will be when Stones goes RCDM. I just put Pavard RCB as I saw he said he wanted to play as a CB not RB and Stones is already playing RB for City. (could well be wrong, but that's just why I put it like that in my comment)
