Used to go bass fishing there in the sixties and seventies. Would Wade around the back and throw plastic worms at them. Lots of bass in the two pounds range. Occasional three pounder and one four pounder. Memories. Looks like a see-ment pond now. Haven't been there in forty years.
If I could be so bold as to make a suggestion... :) You should try some intense one rod fishing. Get yourself a good quality 10 ft. rod with a casting weight of half an ounce. Attach a sensitive quiver tip and lay the rod horizontal on a rod rest. That way you have to be alert at all times, and strike at the exact moment in order to hook the fish properly (trout has a terrible habit of swallowing the hook when you use power bait). It practices your fishing skills far more than just casting out a rig and waiting for the fish to hook itself. Great video and very nice to see some beautiful trout :)

Try this man I've been taught this by my dad when I was a kid. Flick your bait out line the rod up about 2ft off the water with the line greased leave your bail flicked over grab a small rock or stick tighten the just enough so you can place your rock or stick on the line to secure it then leave it once you get a bite you will see the line shoot off let it do that for a few seconds then flick the bail over reel in a bit set the hook

Tommy Eris You are right, I recently did some research and found that the pellets are mostly fish and bone meal/blood meal. This mix is similar to dog food but is very healthy as well. Knowledge is power, thanks Tommy!

I also use mustad #10 circle hooks for lip hooks.
I can't fish at places like this anymore... terrible. I'd rather drive 500 miles for true outdoor experience.
