    i just use the cross in the parking space. that 9 foot i believe and while your there you have a line to ride on to practice your slow or no speed race.

    It’s been raining for about a month straight here in not-so-sunny California, so thanks Robert for giving me my fix of vicarious riding and prompting me to get back out there with those cones - if it ever stops raining again.

    Good in depth explanation, clear and concise. This exercise is a very important one to practice as it can prepare you for crash avoidance in an emergency situation. But it only works if you PRAAAAAAAAACTISSSSSSSE! LOL Thanks for educating the masses of riders Rob! (Damn, I'm jealous of that weather down there! Short sleeves and no jacket? Sheeeet!)

    Thank you again Sir, I just wanted to take a minute and wish you and yours a very Happy New Year. I continue to watch, and practice every time I go out. You've been in my country, almost a year ago now, ( south eastern AZ) and know that everything for me is a trip. I ride more going to the bank or grocery shopping that most riders. I am able to practice 1-4 every time I fire up. With my short legs, I get to constantly practice all you have shown in the last two + years every time I go out. I'm still working on fundamentals because like you say miles in doesn't equate to practice time. I assure you, I am always mindful of your recommendations and have shared with those folks I feel will consider watching your channel. The old timers I grew up with have a saying- "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink!" So applicable to folks that aren't ready to hear there is a way to consistently improve. I can't thank you enough for what you provide!

    I know this is a terrible question. Should I practice on a different bike than the bike I usually drive? I really don't want to drop my new bike.

      @@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle if you try to use a public lot, it'll be a matter of time before your told to leave so the only practice i get is literally when im riding. The bike scene sucks big time where i live.

    • @TandaMadison
      @TandaMadison ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mstanford627 I have a tactic that might work for you. It takes a bit of planning but I find that's all part of the fun. If you haven't used it you may not know it but google maps has a "measure" feature, just right click on google maps and select it from the pop up menu. When you select measure it drops a point, subsequent left clicks drop more points and show the distance between them, you can drag them around, click to delete them etc. pretty intuitive. That being said, I look around on the map or scout while I'm out driving/riding for businesses like commercial supply houses, industrial business that are closed on the weekend or, if I'm going to ride mid week, places that get most of their business on weekends and I measure out practice areas with google maps. Mind you, I don't take cones or measure anything physically just plan it on google maps. So it's like, "hey look that architecture firm is closed on the weekend and the 7 spots along the front painted "visitor" are 60ft long and the end of the parking lines to the sidewalk is 20ft". That's basically an MSF U-turn box. Oh and there's another place just down the road with a string of 8ft wide parking spots. The end of every second parking line makes for a 16ft weave. I have a few of these mapped out in every direction so when I head out for a ride I swing into one of these spots practice for 10-15 min on to another for 10-15 and then I'm off on the rest of my ride. I pull out loosened up for the ride, I've built in a little practice and I've made it a bit of a game so I do it almost every time I go out. I'm not too experienced so I keep trying to stack the odds in my favor.
