- Sikkim joins India’s aviation map as PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the state's first airport at Pakyong on September 24. This engineering marvel, about 30 km from Gangtok and surrounded by mountains, is a major boost to tourism through connectivity.

@@Harry2002-z9q modi just inaugurated the pakyong airport nothing else. i worked at pakyong airport from 2013 to 2018 I know the whole story it started in 2009.
Next time I visit Sikkim, I will land in Pakyong airport.
went to sikkim last year. It is so beautiful a must visit place. We need more such projects in NE india. It will increase tourism in the area also It will help the locals to get better livelihood .

If I knew about this airport 5 days before then my trip would've been confirmed😵😵
Very sad that the only airport of Sikkim is closed down and couldn't even operate for one year since its inception... I request the concerned authorities to kindly resolve the issues so that it is able to operate in any weather conditions

5 years and still only SpiceJet provides service here. When will the Govt's own airline, Alliance air connect this airport? Many other airlines like SpiceJet, IndiGo, Star Air, Fly91 and FlyBig show no interest in connecting with Pakyong. Only Jettwings has promised that it will connect Sikkim, once it starts its operations.
Also SpiceJet operates only 6 months, and not the whole year. So it is basically just idle for the rest of the year.

Cost is too much high. It's now more than Rs. 10000 for one way ticket.

Telling the Fact means Pappu ka supporter ? Do you think Rs.10,000 price ticket for approx 700 km is affordable by middle class people? Only rich people can afford such flights. You yourself see the ticket rates. Even if under UDAN scheme For the fixed-wing aircraft there is a cap of maximum fare of INR2,500 per hour of flight for the 50% of the seats, But for balance seats tickets prices are going astonishingly high and you have to pay exorbitant amount to book.
Wait when many airlines will approach then the fair will automatically reduce. Initial rates are always high. Have patience.

Jabalpur Airport ka kam kab chalu karenge....bahut problem ka samna karna padta hai. Hum janta ko. Aapse bahut naraz hai aaplog bhedbhav karte hai . JABALPUR Bahut important region hai MP ka.,Defence ka ,Army ka ,High court, tourism, educational university ka , Bollywood filmshooting ka .Plz jyada se jyada flight conectivity kariye kyu ki yeh central's India ka bhi part hai aur agar India, central India se nahi connect hoga to kahan se hoga.
