    Easy, quick and no mess way is to wrap each blade ( like a bandage) with 1 long paper towel (5-10 sheets attached). Using a spray bottle with household cleaner, saturate the towels and let set for 5-10 min to loosen the dirt and dust. Then use the pillow case method to remove the towels.

    Just a reminder to clean your ceiling fan ever 3 months or sooner if you can see dust building. You may breathe in the dust, so if it has been 6 months since you uploaded this, check your fans and air vents!

    In Malaysia… we clean it with a wet cloth. The dust will clump together and drop on the floor. Then we swipe the floor and after that we mop the floor

    I guess you didnt know that there are anti dust spray. Anti dust spray is to use on new item, or newly cleaned item, it works as dust repellent, dust will not stick on the surface, we can just dust it off with feather duster.

      This is exactly what I do, I take windex, hopefully the $ store, but that is ok, there is so many uses for windex, that I'am always buying for something. And yes, I have to stop it, and climb on whatever to get the job done, and my ceiling fan is in the kitchen over the k. table, heaven forbid and don't forget the area around the ceiling where the dust also collects. Great video hands on and helpful .

    I had a professional cleaner tell me once to clean ceiling fans as well as blinds with spray furniture cleaner. It apparently produces an anti static surface that repels dust!

    I simply ask my electrician to come and unscrew the main nut and bolt attached to ceiling. Then on ground it takes 15 min to clean. He hangs the fan again. He doesn't remove blades, but clean the attached blades. He charges Rs 100 to Rs 125 ( US $ 1.2 to 1.5), which is not expensive if not free. It's a very convenient and cleans the fan as if it's new one.

    First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you for being so honest and open! 😀 I have a living room fan that's just as bad as the one in your bedroom....well maybe, not THAT bad, but it bad. 😬Lol! You being honest let me know that I'm only human LOL, I mean it's hard to get up that high- super high to clean it. I'll need a ladder. I'm wondering if you had to turn off the power before cleaning it. just asking to be safe. I've been having some breathing issues so maybe you should have put on a mask too. Thanks for the video! :-)

    • @clearingclutterforclarity1508
      @clearingclutterforclarity1508 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hope you were able to get yours cleaned up! No, I didn’t do anything more than turn the power switch off. A mask would be a good idea with all the dust.
      I appreciate your comment. We’re all human and have struggles, some have more time or help than others but it’s hard to get everything done with all our responsibilities. You can be sure this isn’t the only spot I struggle with! 🙈😂 Don’t ever feel bad, just do what you can. ❤️

    I just took my blades off cause I’m trying to figure out if I can fix the wobble and the flickering light problem. These ceilings fans came with my house that I bought 20 years ago and they weren’t brand new then. I’ll let you know how washing them in the sink and reinstalling works.

    you can remove each blade by taking two screws out at the motor cover the blades with plastic bag before removing the screws, take out side and spray off dust with water or air hose than reinstall.

    I vacuum my blades gets the bulk off, then I hit it with an damp rag or Lysol wipe, if it's smearing dirt use an paper towel or micro fiber, if you do it monthly it won't be an multi step process. Bi monthly is ok if you don't use your ceiling fans as much.

    1:17 the way I clean my three sets of ceiling fan is , believe it or not, with Oven Stain Remover & lots of paper towel 🧻 and a sponge. I cook every single day and so when I cook , the oil and the food stains I believe just flies all over the place here in my house. So I have to get up there 👆 all the time to remove that pound cake of dust , dirt and oil hanging up there🥲…. It’s incredible! 😮

    Your fan needs a long bristle hand held scrubbing brush first to knock out the initial dust. Then use a mix of dawn dish soap and vinegar and a throw away rag to wipe all the blades. Then you can clean the fan 😂 use a micro fiber cloth dipped in Fabric softener to wipe the blades and fan. The dust can can be caught by laying an old sheet on the bed or floor area and then shake well outside and then launder to get it clean. I call this the cleaning Then CLEANING method!! 😂
