What a wonderful idea to get rid of the puckering! That worked well and I would never have thought if it. Beautiful frame added to a beautiful bird!! Well done Marion!!
Thanks Rachel. I was intending to leave it till I was putting the book together. But all of a sudden the idea came to me and I just had to do it straight away!😅
The juxtaposition of the delicate lace-like frame with the strongly coloured (almost masculine) bird is striking. You surely turned a problem into an asset. I am impressed.
What a lovely "lace"you made. I tought it was real lace and you sew it on the fabric. But it was embrodery...beautiful. It was also a very good idea to fix the starling.
I'm so pleased it worked out in the end. I couldn't believe how bad I'd pulled the fabric in the first place. It's a long time since I've done that.... but it all ended up fine 😊
Once again, a delightful post! Your reassurances that we can do stumpwork too are convincing while you speak in your calm, soft voice. But, by the next morning , fear of failure may once again rear its ugly head.
Oh don't let it stop you Gaye! Just dive right in... Success will give you confidence in going forward. Plus it's all just a step forward in learning to do something better. Everything takes practice and that means you have to keep trying 💐😊
I am so glad I watched this one! I love how you made the frame, and he is so handsome in that frame. Yes this will look marvelous in your book. What a beautiful project it turned out to be. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your embroidery, it really shows in the end.
Fantastic save, love it and it certainly looks gorgeous, well done and I've never thought of stitching a frame with so many simple stitches, it's lovely
I love your embroidered lacy frame Marion and well done on stretching out the puckers. Palestrina stitch is so useful. I used it to edge a scissors case I made in a Goldwork workshop one day years ago and have often used it since😊
OMG this looks so beautiful….. I think the puckering accident was great because the end result looks stunning. I also loved the frame you made. It looks perfect! Can’t wait to see it in the book.
@@marionsworld24 Hi there! All good here. I was in vacation for a few days and now getting caught up on all lovely videos I missed for the last couple weeks! I am enjoying a Marion’s World Marathon of videos 😍
I am just now working on a piece of embroidery that has puckered more than I wish it had done. Now I have hope for a good way to fix it when I’m through. Thank you!
Hi Marion that's an excellent fix .Well done, it looks great. I too had a piece of embroidery that puckered but stretching it out onto a frame fixed it. I now see my embroidered piece without thinking of the puckering as I'm sure you will with your beautiful starling.
Great save!! I’m working on my bird portrait now and there are a few puckers- but I have fusible web on the back so I might be able to carefully fuse it to some muslin and ease the puckers out?? I won’t know until I take it out of the hoop- something new to learn pops up with every stitch adventure!! I love seeing how you solve each new challenge! The frame is a beautiful technique to use even without the problem! Hope you are having a wonderful trip!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed it leaves the hoop all flat and lovely😊🤞 The fusible web should help I think. I usually don't pull things, but it just shows it can happen even when you're trying to be careful. I'm pleased I had the idea of the frame....
I think that worked very well and I admire your ingenuity! Do you think it puckered because the fabric was a bit thin for the density of the stitching? I love your frame embroidery! You’re very creative to think of that. ❤
The only thing i see is that the frame isn’t situated very good. There is a good inch or more at the top, and it comes up to far on the bottom of bird. Needs to be positioned better. But once done it will be lovely.
I love watching a Master at work . Such a joy. Breathtaking work. As usual .Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 for

Thank you. I'm just so pleased I managed to get it better than it was. There was so much time that went into that starling... 🐦
What a brilliant idea, you are so clever x
💐
Clever you!

👍👍 Absolutely Fabulous!! ❤
What a brilliant 💡 idea!! 😊
It worked well enough. I think it's the only time I've ever pulled an embroidery like that... I was glad to think of a fix ..

Awesome fix Marion. The frame was exactly what the Starling needed. Thanks for the tip.
It worked well 😊
Never seen this way of getting rid of puckering. I just love that bird, the colors are so good.
Thanks. The idea just popped into my head!

I'm pleased I did it. I hope he'll look alright when the book is put together. It won't be quite like the other pages. But that's okay too...
This is such a wonderful resolution! You are so ingenious!
I am so glad to learn how to do this. Thank you!
Clever way to get rid of puckering. The embroidered frame was a great idea and looks so pretty.
😊
He looks brilliant. Such a good idea. The frame is lovely
That frame is absolutely gorgeous.
Impressive save! ❤
Thanks!
Brilliant idea! The frame really sets the portrait off nicely. He looks very handsome too.
He's properly displayed now!
Fantastic save, love it and it certainly looks gorgeous, well done and I've never thought of stitching a frame with so many simple stitches, it's lovely
Thank you.
Sometimes things that look complicated are just so simple when you look at each stage.
You surely know how to think outside of the box! Great design!
I try to!😊
Thank you Marion, I have often wondered how to fix puckering. The frame looks like fine lace.
I was pleased with the finished effect ☺️
Genius ❤❤❤❤❤
A great tutorial Marion. What a lovely work of art you have created. 😊
😊💐🪡🧵
That’s a brilliant idea, I really love your hand sewn frame :-)

It's a lovely stitch. It would look different again in gold thread. Also a good one in crewel wools too.😊
OMG this looks so beautiful….. I think the puckering accident was great because the end result looks stunning. I also loved the frame you made. It looks perfect! Can’t wait to see it in the book.
Thanks Cris. I've missed seeing your messages. I hope you're okay?

Brilliant art,love it.
Another interesting video Marion. Love both bird and frame.
That frame is beautiful!

Very good idea! Beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful
So good great save!! Beautiful
I was going to say 'beautiful' but then you said 'handsome' and that works, too! :-)
☺️
He looks amazing!! ❤

I think it was. I don't usually pull my work ...and it was in a hoop too. Just too much stitching in the end. It ended up looking good though...
Nice save!
That's a choice I had to make! Good 🤔
💐
Gorgeous. I thought you had stitched down actual lace.
Just shows how some simple stitches can create a complex effect when put together.
I think he looks beautiful framed. I dont think I would have changed a thing....
Thanks Rachel

It definitely caused me problems Anne. It's all worked out for the best now though. I have all the birds stitched down just waiting to be quilted...
