The scene where peanutbutter reveals that Bojack wasn't nominated for Oscar and all the people in the background leave him all alone perfectly describes the line" Everybody loves u but no one likes you'!
I think we can all agree that Sara Lynn's death is one of the most saddest things to happen in both season 3 and the whole series, well okay maybe not the "most" saddest thing, but it was definitely sad, i mean Sarah Lynn is one of my favorite characters in the show.
It always makes me sad when I think about her saying "I want to be an architect" right before she died. Like many of us, she had dreams that she never got to fulfill, and she died still wanting something way more simple than the life she had.
Sad thing is she had enough money to pay for architecture school and had more than enough time to learn it. Instead she was consumed by Hollywood. That's reality though it's hard to simply abandon something you invested so much time and effort into especially if you dont know what will happen afterwards.
Was I the only one who worried about what happened to Ethan after Bojack bailed on him? He invested everything into that sequel series, and the production had gone all the way to the filming stage. Surely there'd be more consequences to Bojack for that?
@@tyrant-den884 Even a little TV ad in the background would have been nice. Ethan didn’t deserve to continually get shat on in life. But then again, at least he was getting a back-end from Horsing Around.
The most fucked up is after that Sarah Lynn's Death.. bojack don't want to mess up his reputation so that he left Sarah Lynn to die alone with 17mins. Plus before that, She opened up about her regrets of how she was living her life and don't have another chance to do that.
Yeah that really was his biggest failure. Had he been willing to admit what he did she might have survived. He likely would have gotten off scot free like he always does or at worst some jail time. But instead she died and he gets a life time of guilt.
This is one of your best Bojack videos. Very well thought-out, with well-selected pieces of evidence, and with a powerful and original thesis. I do think it could have been longer. But I do feel like you voiced some of my feelings about this season that I haven't able to articulate (I just had my first rewatch of season 3, and I think it's my favorite, so having say it's the most important to Bojack's development really resonates). Thanks for giving this show so much love!
You said in the beginning that this will be the final season journey video before the finally is released. Why aren't you doing seasons 4 and 5? Is it because you weren't able to finish them in time, or do you have other videos planned for the days leading up to the finale?
They are already done. I started doing season journey videos back when season 5 was just starting to premiere, so I've already done seasons 4 through 6 (part 1).
We still see the overarching theme from season 2 (momentary joy vs. lifetime happiness/change) here with the chat between Bojack and Diane about if the oscar will actually make him happy. also idk if it was intentional but 9:56 had me freakin cackling
Ya know, I like to think the reason bojack didn't answer Diane's calls after Sarah Lynn dies and why he keeps her at a distance (emitonally) when he comes back is because he's scared that he'll repeat this with Diane. A woman who was only 4 years older than Sara Lynn, who he had a major impact on as a child, and who helps bring out the worst in eachother.
I had a thought. When you look at the first five seasons of BoJack Horseman, the only truly happy ending is season four, the one time that he isn't really trying to pursue fame or the consequences of fame (season one: book; season two: movie; season three: Oscar race; season five, Philbert). Does this mean that, because he really wants nothing to do with his old Hollywoo life that he will get his happy ending in season six?
It's finally over but the damage has been done. That is the only time BoJack have got thrown to jail. I feel bad for him, but you can't do stupid things that will get you into trouble, and no, he did not get happy ending!
@@chadkennedy7855 thing too though is he is still alive and while his home is gone all of his secrets are finally out. Bojack seems to have gained some level of responsibility for himself. I think jail and his near death were the true rock bottom he needed.
@@nubreed13 That's what he gets for lying. Lucky for Tuca, she never lies or hurt people including her best friend, Bertie because she never drinks alcohol or do something really stupid and you know that. Also do you remember that Todd got thrown to jail?
Sorry, just some writers notes that I can look back on, don’t mind me Season 1: Being a good person, and doing the right thing Season 2: Temporary joy and lasting happiness Season 3: Reputation and impact
I think her last words are the worst part of her story. Like right up to the bitter end she wanted something different and more tragically than anyone there was a good chance she'd actually never get to be what she always wanted because of her past. I mean who wants to live in a building designed by Sarah Lynn? The drug addict child star that from the outside was an iredeemable insane mess
She might very well have gotten that dream had she been able to escape Hollywood. Plenty of former stars have normal jobs now. Instead she was destroyed
Wait a minute... Heroin, Bojack, Bojack is the name of the heroin Sarah Lynn used before she passed away, Bojack is named after the heroin.... Bojack killed Sarah Lynn.

Really? I thought it was this
"they don't love me, they don't even know me." -> "that's why they love you schmuck"
I think we can all agree that Sara Lynn's death is one of the most saddest things to happen in both season 3 and the whole series, well okay maybe not the "most" saddest thing, but it was definitely sad, i mean Sarah Lynn is one of my favorite characters in the show.
I think that was the breaking point for the entire series for me.
8:41 it's so sad looking at the notes behind her back.. "I'm in charge of my own destiny." and "Mega-fame doesn't define me!"....
It always makes me sad when I think about her saying "I want to be an architect" right before she died. Like many of us, she had dreams that she never got to fulfill, and she died still wanting something way more simple than the life she had.
Loved these. Gonna miss this little community once the show is over. Yeah we will always have it but after this week it will never be the same again.
Omg I didn't realize it's THIS week.
That’s TOO much man...😔
...
They could have moved to Hulu for the 7th season.
Love your takes on bojack, def deserve more appreciation for your work on it. 10/10 great tabbed out material.
The anticipation is killing me
Edit: Rip Kobe Bryant may he Rest In Peace
Amen... 😭😢
@Mister Kat I see... ...that's... unfortunate.

R.I.P Sarah Lynn :'(

The echoey voices in the end of these videos are so haunting
Is it stretching it too far to pose the idea that she did become an 'architect' of sorts by help 're-bulid' BoJack?
Jamoo Hughes it’s definitely comforting
Yes. Yes it is.
This comment legit made me cry
they could use SL last words "i wanna be an architect"

I hope we will see him in the new season. Bojack really might have ruined his life. :/
@@derfuchs3296 I am hoping it was a big success Bojack had been managing to avoid hearing about.
Hah we can discuss now after the last episode
Realistically it wont hurt bojack in any way. Its Ethan that will get the pinch since it's his gamble

i’m sad you didn’t talk about the underwater episode
Love your video analysis, Shady, especially your seasons Journeys of Bojack
These videos are amazing and thank you for doing all of them!
Thanks for making these vids before the final episodes hit.
My hope for the last season part B is everything starts to go.erong, but now the main characters have grown enough to mostly handle it.

best season
Sarah lyn didn’t want to be famous, her mum wanted that for her, she just wanted to go College and be an architect!
He really screwed over Ethan at the end there, even when Bojack realised he's toxic and tries to stop he still ends up fucking someone over.
Gosh you're good

So I didn’t watch Bojack but I did watch Bob’s Burgers.
Hearing the voice of Louise come out of this woman’s moth is very off putting.
Sarah Lyn...?
When’s the BoJack Horseman livestream again?
