    Been searching for some solid perspectives and reviews on the BD suits. They look absolutely great for a period wedding, and it’s encouraging to know the overall product is pretty good. Thanks for this thorough outfit build video!

    Very Nice, thanks for the tips. Although, to me it looks like the pants are too long 4:14. They scrunch up too much at the bottom.

    I just got my suit from BD. It fits perfectly and looks amazing! It is heavy though and thick though so I can’t imagine wearing during the summer in Japan. What are your thoughts on dressing like this every day? At least weekdays

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would probably have a heat stroke if I dressed like this every day. In Birmingham UK, it’s a bit cooler.
      I wear suits most days. Sometimes trousers and an odd jacket. I like dressing nice. But the BD suit is thicker and warm. I couldn’t do that regularly. Just when I feel like dressing for that time period.

    • @1brianescobar
      @1brianescobar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheDadBod A heat stroke haha. Yeah, I imagine the same when it’s 25 and above. I’ve been wanting to dress more nicely that’s why I asked. I might look into cooler/lighter suits and see if that’s an option. Thanks for the vid and quick response.

      I’ve done a dozen and a half or so videos on affordable suits from major retailers. Check out the Jos Bank ones. They are about the only affordable suits I feel comfortable recommending. The 1905 and Reserve videos were made late last year I believe.

    I love the look...but I've always feared wearing suits because I get so overwhelmingly hot so quickly! It's super humid in the summer here in Japan too. Facebook often feeds me ads for "super stretchy, liquid-proof and cool!" suits that seem to be "the new thing"...any thoughts on those @the Dad Bod?

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll have to look into them. I’ve seen suits made of stretch material. I like them. Liquid proof is good for traveling suits.
      That’s probably what they are. Made so you don’t have to bring several suits on vacation.
      Some fabrics are cooler than others. Depends on the material. Linen is good for summer. But be careful, the stitching can come loose if you do too much in them. Make sure it fits slightly loose.

      @@TheDadBod thanks so much. Yeah it’s tough because most weddings I go to I’m one of the photographers so I need to do a whole lot of crouching and bending/twisting too! I have yet to use a suit that lets me move how I want to…so looking for that solution haha.

      If you’re looking for something nice in the 400-500 range, Hockerty is good. If you’re looking for something higher quality, I’d say Oliver Wicks. Both are made to measure so you shouldn’t have to get it tailored.

    Hi! I’m officiating a 1920s/ Halloween themed wedding in Vermont and have been looking into BD Tailormade for my new Suit but in a dark brown! How is the fit on the suit? I will be doing made to measure for the same reason you did as tailor is quite expensive here in NYC.
    How is the overall construction of the suit? Is it actually tailored and stitched construction or is it a glued suit? Is there any room in the waist of the pants when you sit down/ room in the waistcoats to accommodate for “belly expansion” when you sit? I loved the video and it helped solidify my choice of BD tailormade!

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a decent suit for the price. It’s not something I’ll wear often. The stitching could be better.
      The measurements are good, they just mixed the inseam and out seam up.
      I fixed that for $15 at my tailor shop.

    I'm super skinny, can I use sleeve garters to make my upper hand look bigger ?

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure how sleeve garters will make your hand look bigger. If you meant upper arm, probably not. They mostly just hold your sleeve fabric up so your sleeve cuffs end at your wrist.
