So glad you made a video for this dress. I fell in love with this print when you showed it on Instagram! And I know it's a summer dress, but I would definitely wear it into the fall, with leggings/tights and a cardigan.
I absolutely love your video styles, they are informative enough so follow but leave room for thinking for ourselves and yeah. Also this dress( and literally every dress you make ) is absolutely gorgeous. I love your humor and I'm so glad you're uploading more for Christmas this year!
I absolutely love the tie detail at the back... perfect for hour glass figures! as well as making myself a new jersey dress (using this guide), I will be adding this detail to the 4 dresses i have previously made for myself.
That is such a cute dress! I'd love to start sewing my own clothes, especially dresses without zippers. I'm a larger curvy sized gal and I have trouble finding clothes that fit me, even in the larger sizes. So making my own would be the best way to go. I'm glad I found your channel.
Wonderful dress and charming fabric. Thank you for your lovely videos. Another method for binding the neckline and armholes is to place right sides of bodice and binding together and stitch in place. Then fold the binding over and hand stitch on the back side of the bodice, using the machine stitch line as a guide to keep the hand stitches from showing on the front side.
I couldn't resist this fabric either. I didn't know what I was going to do with it but why should that stop anyone? Enjoyed watching this video, love watching the process!
I fell in love with this print and immediately rushed to find it!!! My JoAnns only had it in a corduroy material but oh well-that makes it more suited for fall! ;) Thanks for the tutorial
I just found your channel and I have been binge watching all of your content! You are amazing and so very talented! Learning from you is like having my own personal sewing tutor. You explain everything so well! Thank you for spending the time to make all these videos for us all!!!
Nice tutorial, I really like how you've done the arm straps, I must remember that for the future. Aaaaannnd french seams are the best!, so good for someone who doesn't have an overlocker! You've got yourself a new sub :D
I love that you mentioned the screaming woodland animals. I thought the same thing. Very cute dress! Can't wait to start learning to sew. Don't know why I'm so terrified of my sewing machine LOL
I totally feel you on the the length of most dresses being too short. I am 5'11 and have resorted to making my own skirts and dresses purely because its such a hassle finding a dress that I can successfully bend over in with out showing the world what color my underwear is that particular day.
I love this so much because it can really be altered to make a lot of different dresses. Being 5'11" makes it so hard to find anything that covers my bum.
One of my favorite and most essential tools in my sewing room is my overlooked. Have you considered one for working with knit fabrics? It makes the process so much faster!
I actually like it at first I thought you was gonna messed up when I saw you keep caughting it but at the end when you finish it look really nice great design.
Ignore the screams of the woodland animals 😆 for real though I love your videos! Very informative, but not drawn out. Also this pattern is too cute. Woodland creatures are my favorite. You've kind of inspired me to learn how to sew again lol. I dropped it a few years back but have been missing it.
I love your tutorials. My daughter wants to learn to sew. She is sewing by hand now because she isn't comfortable with her machine. I find your tutorials helpful as a teaching tool for her. When you talk about things like "French seams", could you give a brief description as to why you are using it and how it helps? I recently repaired a dress of hers that had them. I wasn't very familiar with them. Thank you again for doing these videos. You are so talented.
omg! I wasn't expecting a tutorial for that dress! But when I saw it on your instagram (and I think your blog too?) I decided that I'd try to do something similar, so actually thanks for the tutorial! I love your videos and everything you create 💕
Okay, So I've been a silent fan of your videos since the fairy dress (and I've decided today that gosh darn it I'm gonna make my own version of that one because thats the greatest looking thing I've seen in my entire life and I'm ready to branch out with my sewing) but I was wondering if you've ever tried making something similar to the Green Evening Gown from Atonement. I immediately thought that if anyone could make something remarkable - it would be you. It might be something to look into if you're bored. Theres a massive history and loads of analyses done on the dress so even if you don't decide to recreate it- the literature on it is super interesting. anyway- thanks for your videos. They improve my day.
I love your videos and am wondering how you come by such a vast knowledge of pattern drafting and construction. Did you attend design school? You must spend most of your time sewing and designing. Love your work!
What a fantastic dress and adorable print! I am curious to know since you mentioned it, what would you have done differently if you made the dress again?
Is there a specific reason you didn't assemble this with a short stitch on your serger? I've seen you use one before, I'm certain... I work with spandex every day for my business and always assemble with a serger.
Pls can you make video on your sewing machine I got singer 20u109 and scared to use because I don't know how to fix it when thread breaks or stitches are bad
Do you have a serger? you are so talented you ought to treat yourself! I used to think I didn't need one. And would see knits with a regular machine on zigzag or another stretch stitch. Eventually I broke down and got a combination serger/cover lock machine and it is so quick for seeing with knits and I can also hemThem with a true coverstitch. Your stuff always looks great! Thanks for sharing!
I do but I never learned how to use it! I was always worried it would cause me to slack off on the finish of things (serging instead of french seams and to avoid lining costumes). I know they are great for knits, but I use them so rarely that I can't be bothered. I think this is my first time using a knit fabric in 10 months, and it'll probably be another year before I use one again!
hey Angela! I wanted to ask, what exactly are darts? I'm very new to sewing and I'm planning on making this the first thing I see for myself. how do they work?
Wouldn't topstitching the ties a few inches from the side towards the back help with the bunching at the stop of the seam ? I always love seeing your projects, they inspire and motivate me every time !
I'm glad you enjoyed it! That would definitely help - that's pretty much what I said I wished I'd done in the description box. It's probably the method i'd use if I made this dress again!
Why don't you try to show us how you're making your patterns? It would be sooooooo helpfull.
Good suggestion!!
The dress is so cute! It looks like a dress Snow White would wear on her off days to remind her of woodland creature friends. 😊
Curious Girl Foods lol I love this comment so much. 😂😂
"Try to ignore the screams of the fabric animals" XD
I'm loving your channel a lot more now that you are making clothing that are not only costumes. don't stop, continue the great work
So glad you made a video for this dress. I fell in love with this print when you showed it on Instagram! And I know it's a summer dress, but I would definitely wear it into the fall, with leggings/tights and a cardigan.
Girl u are a lovely beautiful woman the dresses that you make helps me to get to my dream closer and closer, God bless u and your work
Are there any videos that you've made "for beginners" I would love to get into dress making!
MrsJohnson ha me too. Throughout this whole video I was thinking "I really need someone to be monitoring me during his whole process"
I would love to wear this dress everyday! It's very beautiful.
I seriously love this dress so much. The background color is absolutely beautiful and the print is just 🥰🥰 looks incredible on you!
you keep making me laugh talking about the screams of the animals xD
I love when your personality shows through in the videos :)
I absolutely love your video styles, they are informative enough so follow but leave room for thinking for ourselves and yeah. Also this dress( and literally every dress you make ) is absolutely gorgeous. I love your humor and I'm so glad you're uploading more for Christmas this year!
....I should probably learn sewing basics before I try to understand stuff like this...
I'm glad I found your channel.
i would absolutely buy this pattern!!!! simple but so flattering!
Beautiful dress & really lovely fabric. xx
I love this!!!!! I've been looking for a great sundress tutorial. thank you!!
I am definitely going to try and make this dress! Do you think you could maybe share the pattern?

Oh, I need to make one of these! Time to shop for the perfect print.
Genious! you're a wonderful teacher and stylist. I loved how this dress fitted you, and it looked beautiful. Congrats! love your videos.!!!
Wonderful dress and charming fabric. Thank you for your lovely videos. Another method for binding the neckline and armholes is to place right sides of bodice and binding together and stitch in place. I couldn't resist this fabric either. I didn't know what I was going to do with it but why should that stop anyone? Enjoyed watching this video, love watching the process!
It's so cute isn't it? I'm thinking of getting more and making pajama shorts!
hi angela!!! I love your work! do you think if you have time, can u do a more detailed tutorial on how you made the bodice for this dress?
Angela, I made pajama pants out of fabric from the same collection, but it was green with different birds on it. It's so cute
Yaaay!! I was wondering what kind of summer dress to make with a great fabric I found a while back. So glad I found this video!
I fell in love with this print and immediately rushed to find it!!! My JoAnns only had it in a corduroy material but oh well-that makes it more suited for fall! ;) Thanks for the tutorial
My daugther fell in love with this dress on my way to Joanns now to find the material!
I made a simple summer dress with this fabric too! I made a white bodice with the print as skirt and cap sleeves. It was so nice to work with!
I've watched this video like 15 times...one day I'll make this dress...one day....
I saw a lot of your videos in the last couple of months. Love your humor! Very dry indeed!
I just found your channel and I have been binge watching all of your content! You are amazing and so very talented! Learning from you is like having my own personal sewing tutor. You explain everything so well! Thank you for spending the time to make all these videos for us all!!!
This is years late and random but just wanted to say your nails are really pretty. Thank you for the video.
You are just so lovely, and skilled of course.
This is amazing. And not confusing. I love the dress. 👍
Love the dress and the narrative. Thanks for sharing!
I FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS DRESS AND THIS DRESS IA MY DREAM TO WEAR IT...IT IS CUTE FROM ALL OTHER CLOTHES
Nice tutorial, I really like how you've done the arm straps, I must remember that for the future. Aaaaannnd french seams are the best!, so good for someone who doesn't have an overlocker!
You've got yourself a new sub :D
This fabric is adorable. love it.
I love that you mentioned the screaming woodland animals. I thought the same thing. Very cute dress! Can't wait to start learning to sew. Don't know why I'm so terrified of my sewing machine LOL
i relate to dresses being shorter on me because of height. i love how this came out! especially the neckline. great vid as always
Love the fabric!! Love the dress :)
This is so elegant. Simple beauty.🌹
so pretty! Love the style and the fabric!
I totally feel you on the the length of most dresses being too short. I am 5'11 and have resorted to making my own skirts and dresses purely because its such a hassle finding a dress that I can successfully bend over in with out showing the world what color my underwear is that particular day.
your voice is so pleasant, and i love how knowledgeable you are about fabric! you just got a new subscriber!!
THAT PRINT IS SO CUTE.
I love this so much because it can really be altered to make a lot of different dresses. Being 5'11" makes it so hard to find anything that covers my bum.
You are my favorite TH-cam seamstress, even though you made some innocent animals suffer for this creation:).
Great dress. I love French seams too
Great video. I love the print. You have encouraged me to use some jersey for my next project.
that fabric is so cute
One of my favorite and most essential tools in my sewing room is my overlooked. Have you considered one for working with knit fabrics? It makes the process so much faster!
Do you have any tips on transferring darts? This is my biggest issue. I bought transfer paper but haven't used it yet. Thanks!
I actually like it at first I thought you was gonna messed up when I saw you keep caughting it but at the end when you finish it look really nice great design.

That is sweet and cool summer dress. You are very lucky you know to sew very very well. Wish I know how
Its so cute reminds me of fall cause of the print
I love your tutorials. My daughter wants to learn to sew. She is sewing by hand now because she isn't comfortable with her machine. I find your tutorials helpful as a teaching tool for her. omg! I wasn't expecting a tutorial for that dress! But when I saw it on your instagram (and I think your blog too?) I decided that I'd try to do something similar, so actually thanks for the tutorial! I love your videos and everything you create 💕
hi! i just found your channel and your videos are so inspirational!
When you demonstrated how to attach the bias tape, the light bulb lit up over my head. Thank you!

Gorgeous!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved the dress, and the fabric! Should not you use a zigzag stitch?
What a fantastic dress and adorable print! I am curious to know since you mentioned it, what would you have done differently if you made the dress again?
Its in the description :)
Perfect! Thank you :)
Soooo cute
Love it!
Adorable
Can you do more of detailed video on french seams?
I love your videos
Do you have a serger? you are so talented you ought to treat yourself! I used to think I didn't need one. And would see knits with a regular machine on zigzag or another stretch stitch. OMG, that is adorable!!! I love the style. Is that pattern available some where?
hey Angela! I wanted to ask, what exactly are darts? I'm very new to sewing and I'm planning on making this the first thing I see for myself. how do they work?
Could you provide some instructions on how to draft a bodice pattern like this?
love the material it's so cute ,summer dress is very pretty where can l get the pattern ? 😄thanks for sharing!
Are you going to replicate any of the 40s and 50s patterns for sale?
Pls show us how u make the pattern
Hi I enjoy your tutorials how ever what machine are u using
Beautiful
Wouldn't topstitching the ties a few inches from the side towards the back help with the bunching at the stop of the seam ?
I always love seeing your projects, they inspire and motivate me every time !
I'm glad you enjoyed it! That would definitely help - that's pretty much what I said I wished I'd done in the description box. It's probably the method i'd use if I made this dress again!
