I'm a married Chinese Canadian guy with two great kids and a mixed wife of Japanese and Filipino. We've been together for over 13 years and married for almost 10 years. Time just went by so quickly and she's my absolute soulmate. Jordan Peterson recently said in an interview that a couple's marriage and lives need to be interwoven into a connected narrative, otherwise you grow apart. Even though I'm around my wife and kids all the time as I work from home, one can still end up being on two separate passing ships emotionally vs physical proximity. This often can happen within busy families and kids in elite sports but at different ages. Going to two or more different locations and never having the time to even eat together. Stay woven 😅

Hannah here👋 Those are good questions. I guess my work could lend to my tendency toward negativity, but some of the people I work with are always positive and never seem to have a bad day. I think it’s more about personality. For remediating conflict, it helps to let go of defensiveness and open up about how we are each feeling. It’s not about being right, it’s about understanding and being understood. It’s hard to say when the honeymoon phase ended. Each new chapter of our relationship has been exciting and interesting in different ways. I’ll never get tired of being with him.
