We are all called, now we have to step out in faith but we still have so much to learn, sometimes I feel my time has been wasted in the past, will I ever catch up and feel able to reach others with His message. This has absolutely been stretching me and helping me grow in my faith! What you guys are doing is so important. Keep going!! I found your videos last year and they have helped me so much. I went through some intense spiritual warfare this past Fall after my devotional was released, but every night I turned on HeartDive and used God’s word to fight against it. In December I had a breakthrough and I felt more freedom than I ever have before. I just kept in God’s word and it changed everything! Thank you Kanoe and Holly for what you guys are doing!!
I was very intimidated at the beginning of the year & wanted to run away & be complacent because I felt so uncomfortable. But, God 👑stepped in and gave me courage to tackle this. I’ve been doing the readings on my own with the help of the Application Study Bible & then I use my ESV Bible to follow along with you & Holly. I feel my heart & soul craving to know more.
I grew up in the Catholic Church, went to Catholic school. Had religion class almost every day. I have read through the Bible several, in my 62 years. I don’t know where I have been in my faith. I have learnt more in the last 16 days, than I learnt in 12 years of Catholic School. Thank you so much. I would like to say I did struggle in the book of Job.

Yes it is a bit harder and different this year. But it’s what we need. I know I do. Those who have been here for one or two years have had the bottle. Most toddlers go off bottle at 1 yr. So now we are on chewable food. And it is up to us if we take it in and find the meat or spit it out. You can’t never go wrong following the Holy Spirit. Maybe some more of us should try that too. Abrahams's wealth is from Egypt which Pharoh had given him. Later this wealth gives him problem. Abraham used his mighty men to fight for Lot but used nobody while sending Hagar away with her child. He honored Lot more compared to Hagar who deserved a better journey to Egypt. For this reason his children had to wander in the same wilderness. God is gracious to provide for Hagar and Abraham at the same time.
I always find interesting Abram and Sarai choosing to emphasize their brother-sister relationship rather than their marriage to navigate situations! They aren't too cut up about it because they do the exact same thing again later in Genesis 20. It does run in the family as a learned behavior because Isaac and Rebekah also use this ploy in Genesis 26, and they are not even remotely brother and sister.
Going back to Chapter 14. Verses 17-20, do you think that was foreshadowing the first communion - with King Melchizedek giving Abram bread and wine, then Abram tithing?! I think we do that in church, we have communion and we tithe right after 🤔 I could be overthinking 😅
I feel like the descendants parts of Genesis are so important I feel like I need a map to visually place the descendants from Noah to Abram, now we’re starting to get glimpses of Moses. Do you have a map or book you recommend?
Really enjoying these videos as a supplement. I think it should be noted that Abram initially PARTIALLY obeyed. He did leave to follow YWHW...but he brought Lot who was part of the family he was supposed to leave behind, right? And that caused some serious issues... Also I think the fact that Abram became VERY rich in Egypt and because of his lies about Sarai...shows that the deceiver will reward bad behavior. These riches end up making Abram have to choose between Lot and his "stuff". This is another example of brother v brother / family v family (separation) that is a recurring thread throuout the Genesis story
2023/2024=MILK/Newborn babes( no judgement we were all newborns ). 2025= SOLID FOOD to grow/gain muscle and develop/skilled in the Word of Righteousness. Equipping. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2026 TBD
When Abram makes it known that Sarai is his sister, isn’t that implying that she’s available? Wouldn’t she be better off being protected by marriage? Apparently, Pharaoh would not have taken her. Same thing with Isaac and Rebecca.
Kanoe, first of all I love this Bible study so thank you! But I think that The Christian Church has misused this verse from Genesis 12:3 “bless those who bless Israel and His children and curse those who dishonor them” to support the genocide of innocent children and people. I STRUGGLE with this greatly, as this is CONTRARY to the teachings of Jesus. But since a majority of Israelis (and Jews) don’t believe in Jesus and his teachings, ( which are the very pillars of our Christian faith ) how are we to bless Israel ? I don’t curse Israel , I just cannot conceive in my mind that if Jesus was walking on this earth TODAY, he will be in agreement with was going on in Israel today. Just my thoughts 🤔 I am happy to be in this journey with all of you!
It’s important to decipher between the state of Israel and the nation of Israel. God is speaking about His chosen people, the Jews who come from the 12 tribes, not a political state. We are grafted into the nation of Israel through Jesus. But remember, God loves ALL people and wants ALL to come to repentance. We are not special in that way. He loves everyone and he hates sin no matter who does it. No one should ever support murder in any form. We need to be better as Christians to spread the love of God and not hatred of anyone, Jew, Christian, Muslim, Atheist alike. Let’s zoom out of the politics and come back to the heart of God because Satan wants to keep us divided. So we need to stand together with Him in unity. Pray for the innocent and pray against evil.
You both are definitely anointed for such a time as this , thank you for your words and explanation , I never saw that distinction on Israel certainly not from the pulpit.
