Talking point (maybe): Is it surprising how differently we treat managers to players? Kyogo has an abrupt Jan exit after a brilliant contribution, and Jota and Tierney are welcomed back after moving (one for money and the other for ambition). Was Rodgers any different? He also gave 6 months of warning signs that he needed investment for Europe that didn’t materalise. All four are terrific. Hail Hail! Let's invest and leave that mob behind forever.

If a player wants to leave it makes sense to let him go. It's great to see Jota back at the club though.

If Kyogo has been less effective than under Ange, the Manager is a key factor in that. The way the team was set up was not designed to see Kyogo as the spearhead as under Angeball. He continued to make the correct runs but the ball so often never arrived. He was the most intelligent and technically adroit player in the squad - bar none.

that all may be the case but glasgow celtic is a team and brendan wants celtic to play as a team. no player is bigger than glasgow celtic. i love kyogo.. but getting a striker in who can do the things brendan wants better than kyogo is a good idea. kvistgaardens attributes fit the celtic team much better now than kyogo now.

Jota announced 1 minute ago. Yasss.
I remain gutted kyogo has gone (almost) but not in any way disappointed in him wanting to leave. As soon as a human being wants to live and work elsewhere, then for me you’ve got to let him go as soon as he wants. He’s a human. And an employee. Not a prisoner. Sport. Contest and contracts don’t really come into it for me, outside securing a fee. Human being wants to go, got to let him go. We need to remember Rodgers and Dembele on this issue.
If one of Chris suttons children moved overseas to work then later wanted to leave or come home, I’m sure Sutton would be furious if their employer refused to allow it. Immediately
    Same rules apply.
Where Jota is at mentally would be interesting to know. Physically he’ll obviously be a bit off match fit but he was making Rennes squads so he won’t be miles off. But the whole process of being here, leaving, moving again, then coming back. He could be in an interesting head space but he was always an upbeat positive guy so, you expect he’ll be ok.

How will we see the best of Jota in a stubborn system tailored to inverted full-backs and wingers with width instructions heavily set as narrow as possible? Statistically, Jota is least effective in the half-space areas, and most effective in the wide channel playing as a direct winger making runs in behind and darting through the spaces.

Kyogo was my favorite player. But he isn't near larssons level. Larssons heading ability compared to kyogos ? Larssons ability to score from tight angles! He is my favorite striker since Larsson for all the reasons you guys have mentioned, but he just isn't near as good. Bonner was on radio Scotland at the weekend and he was comparing them and said what "made" Larsson better than KYOGO was big Sutton n hartson knocking balls down to him kyogo didn't have that lol if KYOGO was up top with Sutton on Seville that night it's Porto 2 Celtic 0 KYOGO couldn't score the "types" of goals Larsson scored in old firm games. The chips the impossible angle at ibrox etc. Still loved him though. But he shouldn't really be compared.

Right at the end there, guy says we will miss maedas pace energy especially in Europe. I completely agree 💯🙂 the other day there was talk of Madea isn't considered a winger 😮 he should be deployed as a 9 a main striker, this is absurd. He isn't a natural finisher 😅 that's putting it mildly 😊 but everyone has been saying jota on one side and kuhn on the other will put the fear of God in defences! Ye ok so where do s Madea fit in to that because you can't play them both and kuhn you can't have three wingers. Obviously it's nice to have options. Imagine if jota had maedas pace lol 😆 he wouldn't be at Celtic. My point is it's great having jota back. But let s say he was up to speed and in form, who would you play against our most important champions league opponents say in the next round jota or Madea?

Infact that's a nice example, strength. Look at larssons first goal at ibrox ! Was a 2-2 draw lok at the header he scored the way he held of the defender who was climbing on him he could easily if went down claiming a penalty, but he stayed on his feet and headed it in with the defender leaning all over him. No way could KYOGO have done that. If KYOGO was as similar to Larsson as everybody is parroting then why is he going to renne then? When he only costs less than ten million and arsenal are dying for a striker? If he was that standard? Where are Barcelona man U

Disagree with Quinny re kyogo, i didn’t really see any considerable drop off in his game or sharpness, touch etc. e.g. His performance v young boys last week was as good as any he’s produced since he arrived in 2021,
But i do agree, villa park is a great stadium. Been once way back in 1996. Probably changed a lot since then.

Chris sutton also said when the news broke first that Celtic have no champions league ambition by letting this happen. Knee jerk, shows Sutton doesn't always know what he is talking about lol. I'd rather see a signing than a loan, I don't see the point of taking Ferguson on a 6 month loan only for players to get used to another forward in summer. Get the business done now, whether that is Kvistgaarden or someone else. If Kyogo plays to 45 like Shunsuke we might see him back 😅

Complete and utter nonsense re Kyogo not wanting to play for the 'club' anymore. Kyogo loved every last facet of Celtic. Are we seriously going to beLIEve a malignant Narc that tells more tales than bloody Jackanory himself?? Please!
Kyogo 'only' wanted to leave Celtic due to one man and one man only and that was evidently Rodgers. A manager that ruined the best technical striker we’ve had at the club since Henrik, from the very moment he walked back through the door. Why should he continue to play under a manager who doesn’t even have the tactical acumen to work out how to play to Kyogo’s strengths?? A striker that was on fire, finishing on 34 goals, 2 months prior to Rodgers’ return. We knew Kyogo wasn’t happy under Rodgers from last season, outwith the sudden change of agents, he was regularly cutting a deeply frustrated figure on the park - due to the severe lack of service within a playing system that didn't prioritise our main asset.
As recent as 3 weeks ago, Rodgers stated Kyogo was perfectly suited to his system and was an integral part of his plans moving forward. Next minute he's blaiming the player and claiming he wanted away for months - which one is it?? If he genuinely believed his former statements made about Kyogo a few weeks ago, he would have done everything in his power to keep him till the Summer. Usual gaslighting pish and lies from a man whom is well versed in such traits.

@@pauloneill3380 You're missing the context of my point - which related directly to Rodgers complete mismanagement of Kyogo since August 2023.
However, since you mention it - what is this continued success you speak of? Winning a one-horse race at the richest point in our history up against 11 diddy clubs who's combined budget's is less than our own? Never competing a real Rangers side apart from a skint 12 year old tribute act - where is the awe-inspiring achievement in beating that pish? Have you actually watched us most of last season and again this season (from November onwards)? Did you miss the part were we've played some of the worst mind-numbingly insipid Football witnessed at our club in many years? Qualification to the knock-outs of the UCL for the first time in 13 years is his best achievement - even if it took until the second last game to require an OG against the worst team in the competition. His 75% win ratio is very good on paper if we ignore the aforementioned context - which is definitely something most supporters are keen to do these days. As long as we win eh - who cares how we perform, just scrape ourselves over the line! That's the new accepted 'Celtic Way'.

    • @leannecampbell4551
      @leannecampbell4551 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@pauloneill3380 Of course not, but it is most certainly the manager’s fault that we’re vastly underperforming against said opposition in Scotland - and have been for the most part since his return.
Look at the Football we consistently played under Ange compared to him - absolute night and day! Even when he is using the same 3-lines shape. He has dramatically regressed our previous high-tempo possession-based playing style in the attacking, defensive, and transitional phases, in such a negative manner. Overseen by a system which is flawed in tactical balance, fluidity levels, positional structures etc.
I agree, he is doing ‘OK’, but could and should be doing a whole lot better.
