However his utterance in favor of urdu as the state language was the only mistake in his political career. Urdu na Bangla should 've been declared as the state languages of undivided Pakistan.
It was not necessarily a mistake. Consider the case of Indonesian - Bahasa Indonesia was derived from Malay although Javanese was the language of the majority. Jinnah was in favour of urdu as a language which could have integrated the different regions. All regions were allowed to use the regional languages. I visited Indonesia once and found that Bahasa Indonesia is well-spoken across the country, including Bali where the Hindu culture and Balinese language is spoken as a regional language.
