    This is really going to make me look dumb. I live in Suffolk Va. Moved here from Ohio about 3 years ago. I go on a cruise once a year and fly to Miami and I never knew you can book a cruise out of Norfolk. Lolol. Glad I came across your channel. Going to save me alot of money. Thank you.

      Try parking at the Norfolk airport and catch transportation from there to and from the cruise terminal. I personally believe that airport parking is more secure and there should be professional transportation options to and from there to the cruise terminal...

    New subscriber... great video … We did a back to back on May 15 and then May 21 sailing… We were very fortunate because we live in Virginia Beach and we were able to take an Uber… Lines were still long waiting to get into the terminal… But at least we did not have to do the parking lot or anything… Looking forward to more videos🛳

    Thanks for the vid.😊 I am very happy that you seemed ti be enjoying yourselves while making the most of the inconveniences. I have only ever sailed Disney... here, everything was different and i'm not here for it. You were great with being optimistic, cheerful, grateful and happy though. This is the first I have seen of other port facilities and boarding up close of other Cruiselines.😂 The nerve of them not announcing the arrival of your party with no 🎉and applause and 😢 no greeting committee and the literal performance of the song and dance by the Captain himself to welcome you onboard...😮 no grand Atrium... i can't do it😂 Mouse extortion isn't that bad hmmm😝.. there's alot included in the higher costs on the Cruiseline.😏😌

    I live in Richmond and the first cruise I took was in Norfolk on Carnival triumph. I remember the line being long and I asked a porter at the port " is the lines like this at all ports? " He told me no, only here because you can't park at the port.

    • @CruisingtheworldwithJackie

  • @reneshay889

    The May 21 problem was that the shuttle busses bringing people back to the parking lot returning from a cruisr were blocked by traffic. Finally the police stopped traffic so busses could get back into the parking lot. Thus, they could not load people to embark.

      I was told there are handicap busses
      I did not see one, but people were saying that people who did need were using to avoid the lines. I do not recommend this lot at all. Check out my 411 video for some ideas. Link in description. Also this lot had problems with crashes and break ins this week.

      Unfortunately we also had a nightmare in regards to embarkation on the Magic going out June 4, 2022. I will say I spoke to quite a few people who had arrived much earlier than their scheduled embarkation time trying to get on a little quicker. Due to the arrangement at this port, they must have all passengers follow those posted embarkation times or it really presents a problem. I arrived with my family to the lot at 11:30am (our scheduled arrival time was 11:30-12:00). However, the line just to get on the lot was over an hour wait and over a block long out on the street. Once on the lot, it was another hour standing in the hot sun before we could get onto the shuttle busses. After we got to the terminal it was another 1:45 - 2hr before we got to board, all of which was standing and a great deal of it in the sun outside. We finally got on board at 4:30pm. I was told there was issues getting the returning passengers off as fast as they would have liked, but I do think a great deal of the crowded waiting was due to folks not following the arrival schedule shown on their boarding passes. It's nice you were able to get on a bit earlier, but for those who followed the directions, it became a disaster. No disrespect, just pointing out why following the guidelines is so important (especially at this port). As usual, the onboard crew more than made up for the nightmarish beginning.

    • @CruisingtheworldwithJackie
      @CruisingtheworldwithJackie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesgayheart7941 None taken. We intended to just get to port and walk around and explore till our time, but when we got there they told us they were boarding everyone. We will not use the lot next time and it will be much better. No one should use parking until they get the security issues fixed.
