Thanks for sharing! The concept of choosing my identity wasn't forced upon me in the same way as for you, the realization that I wasn't comfortable in my assumed role came to me slowly over time. Having it thrust upon you like you describe must have been hard, I'm happy you have found a way for it to work for you. Cheers!

I enjoyed this video. It mirrored some of my own ideas about gender roles, physical bodies, mental images of oneself, and the desire to fit in while still being happy about one's self.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Best wishes.

Making others happy and doing what other people want may mentally hurt you or physically hurt you. If anyone wants to keep their private parts female and male then do that. People should make choices for their own bodies.

for me i was claimed male at birth, im 46 xxxy with micro penis, uterus, 1 testi, 1 ovary, produce eggs not sperm.. But cause i was claimed as male my parents have always said I have to be male.. however I was always thinking wait im female.. but at same time I like camping, fishing, computers.. but I also have done sewing, cooking, female modeling, makeup but all my dad and siblings see is that I have to be male and thats all.. I changed my name to a female name 18 years ago, been on and off estrogen for 24 years.. I wish my parents said you can choose either male or female.. Id say female but it would seem I dont have a choice unless I cut my family off or they cut me off.. But that's hard because I also have autism, anxiety, depression and need support.. I'm told I can't feel female.. cause feelings arent real...... I say so if I feel pain because I cut myself then your saying that is not real?

You don't have to put yourself in a box of being male or female. You can identify as genderfluid also. Or mix of female and male that is stationary. There is also non-binary which is when you don't identify with female or male. No one should ever tell you to choose. You don't have to be in a sexual relationship with a male or a female. Bisexual people are attracted to females and males. You can be who you identify as and it's OK to be attracted to both females and males. Be you and not what others tell you to be. If your Androgynous meaning you look female and male that's OK also. You tell people who you are. Love you for who you are. Your important. You are worthy of love.

Hey Maya. I'm sorry all you had to go through because of lack of knowledge in the society and in the health system. I think you're an amazing person and i think true hermaphrodites is divine. You're so unique, like a very special bright star.
I'm so agree with you that what really collect us all is that we are all humans. Gender is a made up thing. It is so many in the range between the "perfect man" or "the perfect woman" that you're not alone, that's for sure, and really "Intersex" should have been the third gender in our society.
I think religion has been running this show, for no scientific reason really. I've found that no one is as judgefull as religious people, unfortunately. So it's best to just stay away from them. They don't want to know, they only want to "believe".
And besides, the old testament is based up on the Talmud, that describes 6 different kind of sex/category, but the OT forgot to mention that, lol.
I hope you know that all the information you bring out will help many other people in your situation and the people around them to understand. So keep up the good work, stay brave and strong as you are, and stay safe and happy
