Great interview. So glad I found this channel! When I had sub-pec implants, they irritated and swelled every time I did upper body work at the gym or in yoga.

How are things now? Are you considering switching to your own tissue or have you already done that?

@@DiepCFoundation Hi. I've had them explanted and now having consultations with plastic surgeons here in UK about options using just fat grafting. :)

@@caroldurand6803 Ah, I see. I hope you’ve found a great surgeon. I hear DIEPs are currently experiencing a delay due to our current health issues with the pandemic.

Are expanders a must with delayed reconstruction? Also do the Allergen or any other brand of expanders contain nickel in them?

@4:36 regarding the ACM or the internal bra for supporting the implant, I wonder if this complicates things when a patient needs to do a new implant, say, about ten years later. And ACM is incredibly expensive too.

If I am understanding your question correctly, the removal of the supportive matrix/mesh you are speaking of might be more difficult to remove after it has been in place a few years since our bodies form a capsule around an implant. It would be a good question to ask your surgeon if this is a procedure you are thinking of having.

@@DiepCFoundation yes exactly right understanding, Terri. Yeah I will probably ask that question to the surgeon, especially for a skinny patient with very little breast tissue, i am concerned with implanting 'falling out'... i am guessing not every patient needs ADM.. and ADM is not just for support, am sure there is other possible good use for it. x
