such a shame how few people listen to mike, i was lucky enough to see him live
My comfort zone, underrated album
This is my comfort album. It helped me get through a lot of times. I had this album on repeat early last year when my mom was in the hospital and eventually passing away. A lot of Mike’s stuff kept me company. Throughout the years. One of my best friends of 8 years passed away last week due to self infliction. I would play this around him sometimes and it would bring a sort of comfort and ease. I’ll forever be grateful for Mike’s music and this album specifically.
I got this upon release, early junior year away at college, and it affected me so much. I don't think Mike thinks much of it, being primitive and such as a solo debut. I just fell in love with it, and spinning it brings back all those memories 22 years ago of being young and hopeful as we are in our early 20s. This is the loveliest of debuts.

I was 18 in 2002, i made my mom listen to a bunch of emo shit while she and I drove around as I got my drivers license, but this was the best of it. she liked it so much, my dad told me not to give her any more owen cds.
