    rear tires wear great on mine. From factory it has worn great. The alignment specs could be too lenient at shop checking it. They always just want easy money. You could use stiffer springs because when it sags on the longer sedans the alignment changes. I have some stiffer Si springs for rear if you want them.

    Your wheel bearings are going out. I can hear that drumming hum. My civic is a 2018 and right after 160k km the wheel bearings started making noise. Sounded like wheel balancing but after a full road force balance it’s the bearing.

    Having owned more than a dozen Hondas .
    I can tell you that the rear bushings tend to start sagging with age which causes your rear camber to flex... This can either be compensated with an adjustable rear camber kit .. OR by servicing all the bushes on the rear .
    Also at 300 000 km , the inner CV/ Axle joints start to wear into the cups and cause a small pitting which then causes the vibration under load .
    outer axle will cause the noise . inners will cause vibration .. so you're on the money .

    • @Narrowgaugefilms
      @Narrowgaugefilms ปีที่แล้ว

      STP, black bottle, basically what they had at the supermarket!
      To start, we put it in when the car was doing low mileage and the cleaner could soak inside the injectors for more than two weeks. The warning messages appeared once more on the display later that month, so we did it again. Since then, at the beginning of each new season we put a bottle in a full tank of gas and we haven't had a warning message since.We're hoping somewhere along the line, the injectors will be cleaned to new condition and we'll keep them that way.
      I can't guarantee this will work forever, but we've kicked a $1400 repair 10,000 miles down the street now.

    I live in Norway. What about oil dilution problems and carbon build up? I have seen many claims about these problems. I have owned 5 Hondas in my life. A 1999 Accord 1.8 IES and a 2002 Accord 2.2 i-ctdi diesel. 2 civics. A 2007 (?) 2.2 i-ctdi type s (diesel), and a 2012 2.2 i-dtec, also diesel. I think the crv was from 2005, and was also a 2.2 i-ctdi diesel. None of cars had any major problems. 2.2 i-dtec civic i had to change the exhaust temperature sensor under warranty, and the old 99 accord had worn bushings in the steering rack after over 100,000 km. Other than that, all the Hondas were very reliable.

    I have a 2016 coupe touring I bought brand new I do a lot of mixed driving city and highway 200K miles and aside from a few electrical problems and a bad low pressure fuel pump at 120K and brake rotors and pads it’s been great . At 36,000 I switch to amsoil 5w30 instead of 0w20 and I switched two amsoil cvt oil at 60k and I change the cvt fluid every 15 k which is excessive but I figure it’s cheap insurance vs a new transmission. I’ve only used 87 octane gasoline. I let it was up for 10 minutes before and after work everyday even when it’s warm out .

    I bought the Civic Hatchback Sport 2021. I’m worried about the smell of gasoline coming out of the muffler. Religiously, I change the oil and filter every 5 months. I travel short distances of about 19 miles a day. When I check the engine oil level, it smells like gasoline and is above the level. I’m worried about the longevity of my Civic. I use premium gasoline 91. I hope my Civic will be durable, but all these things worry me.

      You should check oil level properly. There is a timing of it. The smell will be there. That is why you are supposed to start with a heavier oil so that when mixed with gasoline, it does not get too thin. Change it every 5k miles max. Also let it idle 60 seconds at start up. Drive it slowly for 1st 5 minutes.

      The Honda L15 1.5 turbo engines have oil dilution issues. Since its a turbocharged engine it operates at a lower temperature and causing a prolonged engine warm up period. as you know metal expands as it heats up so running the engine at low temperatures or in a colder climate can cause it to stay cold longer. this is an issue because when it cold starts the tolerances between the pistons and the cylinders are loose causing fuel to leak around the oil control rings. It also doesn't help that the internal operating pressures are higher and the operating temps are lower due to the turbo. your solutions are 1. go to the dealer and have them update the software on your ECM. 2 allow the vehicle to warm up before placing load on the engine. 3 change your oil no more than every 5000 miles.

      I would use a good synthetic 0w40 oil and change it every 4 months or 3k miles no more. Turbo gdi cars can be reliable, but you need 2x the maintenance compared to a non turbo car.
