    I am from Fuzhou, Fujian! I always thought that the dialect was mainly spoken in Fujian. But then I noticed in a lot of videos that a lot of people from different provinces had learned the dialect to. And also lots of foreign students learn Mandarin, and go on to learn Cantonese, but if they continue to learn dialects they learn Fuzhounese, or other common dialects. So this video is super cool! ❤️

      Is Fuzhou dialect same as Putian dialect?

    • @johndoe5346
      @johndoe5346 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@sho9214 Nope! They are different and mutually unintelligible. Fuzhounese is an eastern min dialect, while putian dialect is it's own subgroup.

    From ho tie and bo ho tie, I can tell linking is also normal in Putian Min Chinese. /Ho-lie/ is linked for "delicious" when usually you can also say /ho tie/. I speak Hokchiu/Hokchew/Foochow/Fuzhounese, very similar to Putian Min Chinese.
