I assume new timing belt and water pump when swapping? Do you also use a new oil pump?

It would depend on the mileage, but generally, we would suggest doing that simultaneously to be safe.

Great Video guys! Thank you for the valuable information. I was wondering if in your experience, a swap between NA Phase 1 EJ Subaru engines of different displacements (EX: (EJ18 to EJ25 NA same year, different car) would be a "plug and play" option? is that possible?

From what we gather, the original ECU can handle the displacement change without issue, so if going from 1.8 to 2.2 or 2.5, you would still follow these instructions.

My car starts but nothing happens when I step on the gas… drive by throttle body. Car was tuned for 94 and my buddy put 91 , did my stand alone ecu go into limp mode to prevent damage or do i have an electric issue or engine issues? Been trying to figure this out for a few months now, I miss my baby. Any help would be appreciated.
