Not the best time to move and renovate a new home but you do what you have to sometimes, so it's the same as strongman!. Prep prep and more preparation saves time later on , so gut it and start again!. Good luck buddy

i would knock that living room dividing wall down between the kitchen and redo the exterior doors into slider window doors all along in an L shape let more light into the house ,id also heighten the drop ceilings in the living rooms ,i could see some huge possibilities.
