I am a strong woman and all my life I've been searching for a man who can indeed walk three steps ahead of me - not because I'm pretending to be weaker, or let him, but because he is just that good. I respect Gackt's mentality when it comes to improving your weaknesses and focusing on bettering yourself as a man. He's been extremely successful in life because of it. However, in terms of relationship advice... I think maybe we should be cautious of it since he doesn't exactly have the best track record when it comes to dating. That's okay though! No one is without flaws, and we have to acknowledge that. I just think that Gackt's approach to becoming successful in life is valid, but his dating advice really isn't when you consider his lack of successful romantic relationships. He still seems like a cool guy that I would love to learn more from though.
when he talked before (on king's banquet) about woman walking behind i actually had to look that up - it was done not only in japan but also in europe as well to protect the woman from muggers or even from dirt flying up from the street - when i read that and understand i thought that was sweet - now guys wont even hold a door open for a girl (partly our fault so they dont know HOW to react - at least here in the west)

In return, women should also respect him, trust him and protech him. If you listen to the end of this interview,he even said he can fall in love with women who are capable to lead. By the way, out of this interview, he's sometimes expressed his admiration for some women like his older sister and he never described her as weak.

i totally understand what gackt means i know some people who question things to much and end up missing up things by not doing it and just questioning it pisses me off kinda like how in scary movies or action flicks u tell someone something and they just question instead of doing and end up getting killed i kinda wish there were more guys like him there is nothing wrong with being protective of someone u love female and male do it
I've had a lot to think about since last commenting on this. And ya know, I wouldn't mind feeling protected, not because I'm a woman but because someone wants to because they care about me, if you love someone you should have that instinct of protecting them, male or female. I'd hate it if someone ran off if I was being attacked to deal with it on my own. As long as he has nothing against women working, building up a career, then I haven't got much beef with him.
he does have a point when he says that women act more as males because they have to. I am one of them sadly. As I am alone, I have to take care of myself. My father wanted to be sure that his daughter could fend for herself and would never have to rely on a man in a way that would make her dependent on him. So I could always leave if he treated me badly. By being like this finding a man to protect me (which I do ultimately hope for) is almost impossible sadly as they feel threatened by the front

I do many things that aren’t "woman's work" It’s not mainly a matter of man or woman but "human"...and still I’m agree with him.I don't think he’s telling woman has to be without her own will.For me he talks about responsibility, respect and trust.If woman lets somebody to lead it’s because of great trust in him.It means this man is able to take responsibility and has a strong spirit.I suppose for man this trust of her means that she knows his mind and heart very well and respects his decisions.

I agree that his opinions sound sexist but I also think there is a point there too. Cultural background aside, there's no way to erase millions of years of evolution just like that. The fact remains that men and women ARE different, both physically and mentally. There's nothing wrong with that. Genders balance each other nicely. I think he's just stating that fact. Besides, I've never heard him call women inferior or less valuable than men. So let's not get this out of the proportion shall we?

IMHO I agree with his way of thinking. Does it make me less of a woman to find what he says appealing? I don't think it's sexiest. A lot of couples end up with either the girl or boy calling all the time worrying if they were with someone else, there's no trust in the relationship. I don't think he wants something like that. Gackt should perhaps stop looking at things I'm terms of leadership and more of partnership and teamwork :) In the case of the three steps behind philosophy, I say walking beside each other is best because there's no pressure to fulfill a specific role just because society says you should. If someone I love is in danger, I want to help them, not stand back or run away and leave then to fend for themselves. That sounds glorious but rarely turns out that way. Instead, there's strength in numbers.

Gackt should perhaps stop looking at things I'm terms of leadership and more of partnership and teamwork :) In the case of the three steps behind philosophy, I say walking beside each other is best because there's no pressure to fulfill a specific role just because society says you should. If someone I love is in danger, I want to help them, not stand back or run away and leave then to fend for themselves. That sounds glorious but rarely turns out that way. Instead, there's strength in numbers.
@PuffyAmiYumi I don't get the wanting to protect a woman in this day and age though.. protect women from what exactly? serious question. even women who aren't 'carnivorous' don't need protecting.. women aren't weak. maybe he thinks his women should be weak and fairy-like who "needs" and depends on him? i don't know, he's a puzzle. i think even if someone had an indepth convo with him, they'd be loads of contradictions in that too.. kind of think he doesn't really know what he's saying either

I know he is being a bit biased here....but look, he is from Japan, he does not really know the situation between men and woman in other countries in the world. Don't lose respect for him....I think he did speak a lot of good words, but he does not understand the situation in each country that well enough. Don't be hard on Gackt!! I come from an asiancountry where woman are illtreated by men (who are more in population), even though women are aggressive too.
