When high school students Molly Ringwald and Randall Batinkoff fall for each other, they wind up taking a crash course in adulthood in this contemporary romantic comedy. Molly ("The Breakfast Club," "Sixteen Candles") stars as a fledgling journalism student who can't wait to see her name in print. Randall is hoping for a scholarship to Cal Tech. On top of the world and in love, their futures seem idyllic until one little thing throws them off track - a baby. This unexpected "change of events" doesn't sit too well with their moms and dads, who just aren't ready to be grandparents. So Molly and Randall split from their families, get married and begin a life on their own with their new "bundle of job." It doesn't take long before the honeymoon is over, diapers are in, and late dates are out. But in the end, sharing kisses beats doing dishes as Molly, Randall and their families discover that the best love of all is...FOR KEEPS.

"I'm pregnant, can you pass the turnips?" Well, that's certainly one way to tell them!
lmao right what could go wrong
This is my favorite line in the movie.
Never talk about private matters in front of younger siblings. They'll eventually rat you out, even unintentionally!
They didn't know they were outside the door.
They thought no one could hear them.
They technically didn’t they were listening to there private conversation
Did you see that snarky smile from that girl? They intentionally wanted to cause problems but this wouldn't stay secret forever.
It's that way with older siblings too.
So crazy how the pregnant teen ends up playing the mom of a pregnant teen
makes sense, teen moms beget teen moms
I searched high & low for this movie not too long ago. I love a good Molly Ringwald movie!
It should be free with ads on TH-cam!!
@@jilliank6379 Thanks! I ended finding it on a movie app.
Her mom isn't seeing how scared and upset her daughter is 😢
Why would she , she didn't help her make it ?
I noticed that too :/
This was the 80s. Our parents didn't care about our feelings.
She didn't care.
The two leads have good chemistry. You can tell the characters really love each other
I love this movie i love when his dad says stretch marks are the badge of a real woman 🤣
😅😅
What about my son's oysters? Lol what a line
i remember telling my parents about my teenage pregnancy..it was much worst than this and i was 28 😩
How old were u when u got pregnant?
28 lol .. my mom freaked out like i was 16
@jocelynekaboya8205 it's not a teenage pregnancy when you're already 28! 🤣 Yours is an unplanned pregnancy.
@@lingghiteng9432 that’s exactly what i tried to tell my mom lol 😂
@@lingghiteng9432it was a joke
My Cousin wrote this movie! Tim Kazurinsky he played Sweet Chuck in the Police Academy movies. He's a brilliant comedy writer!
So dope! I love 80s movies
Cool 😎
Miss that kind writing of writing now-a-days. Most movies suck today. It’s green screens or hollyweirds leftist political agenda. Same with music industry. It’s all pretty much garbage
And also a great writer. I love this movie and Sweet Chuck is one of my favorite characters in P. A.
when i was a little girl I had a massive crush about Randall
A woman can have stretch marks and not have a child....men get stretch marks too. Whoever wrote that line.....😒
I got stretch marks on the sides of my upper thighs at 14 but I’ve had 2 pregnancies and never got a single mark.
This movie is so Real and Well written it stands the test of time!!
Her mom is right, but wrong. Right in that it's Darcy who has to carry the baby & selfish for his parents to think they have a say in telling her carry the baby but give it up. She's also wrong in thinking she can plan Darcy's abortion & make that decision for her. I get where the parents are coming from, with them being young & not financially stable, but it's Darcy & Stan's final decision.
Exactly. I was like Ooh! So close but so off in regards to her mom. Stan’s dad was just insufferable
What if they're under age
@@MistyMitchell-b5oeven kids can make their own decisions when it comes to abortion/adoption/raising the baby. Or they could, anyway. Now abortion is illegal in a bunch of the states so they may need to go to a civilized state to access abortion care.
@@aroundthemiddle2112 so an under age girl can have an abortion without parental consent, yet they can't get married without parental consent?
Now I wanna watch this movie
Hey, Berta from _Two and a Half Men!_
I love this movie & molly ringwald so much
Had a gerbil last year and it died
I love this movie I been trying to look for it and forgot the name ! Thank youu 😊
It’s called “for keeps”
My mom was just evil when I told her after I had him and he was the best thing ever in my life btw I’m raising my brother ❤
I saw this movie back in quarantine and I remember loving it so much I put it on my top list. Eventually I forgot about it so it was nice for this to get recommended ;)
THANKS SO much for this clip!!!! Great movie!
They look good together ❤
❤ this movie it’s been years sense the last time I saw it. ❤😂
The older boy would have heard the word before.
Maybe not back then
@@sunshinegirl4660 I’m that age. We knew about abortion in Catholic school by age 8-10.
@@kristinesharp6286I’m that age too and had never heard that term before. I went to public school. Maybe it depends on the region. 🤷🏻♀️ It was high school before I knew what an abortion was.
"stretch marks are the badge of a real woman" 🤣🤣
That little girl was in the Brady’s tv show
Where's the whole movie?
This is actually a very good movie.
Stan’s dad is Ariel’s dad!
What?
@@angellisa2614I’m guessing King Tritons voice from the little mermaid?
THE LATE GREAT CONCHATA FERRELL!!!!!!
Did they keep the baby?
They did! And they raise it together. It’s not all butterflies and sunshine of course, the movie is really good.
@@mlmincey95
That's good 👍🏻. Thanks for letting me know. I was hoping they kept it.
They got married ❤
Yes, they had a girl and named her Thea. They got married too.
I thought he abandoned her.
They should be talking in private far away from these two kids.
Agreed, they'll always find a way to rat you out, and are always eavesdropping.
Little pitchers have big ears.
They were!
My now late mum was 8 when it came out😢
So very sorry for your loss. 🙏🏻♥️
That's a good mother.
far off from from understanding but ok mom
My thoughts exactly.
Neither one of them were nice and they were pushing that poor girl so much.
I love this movie
Bertha is in this movie, nice. Also I love this movie, it stopped me from getting pregnant as a teenager. And why didn't she get an abortion?
Catholics don’t believe in abortion.
Because most people don’t want to get abortions unless it’s medically necessary
Yes, I knew that I recognised Stan's mum from somewhere! Darcy was considering getting an abortion, but she didn't want to go through with it, in the end.
@@trinaq no her mom said she had to get one. She went with a friend and then left before the procedure cause she didn’t want to.
….Her choice?
Berta looks young
Whatever happened to the actor who played Stan? I don't ever remember any other movies he was in.
He has a small role in “As Good As It Gets.”
a remake where they're texans today would be fantastic
A simple medical solution😳 uh, no.
The mom‘s behavior was chilling in this scene
Are there more movies like this?
For Keeps is around the same time. Starring Kevin Bacon
I meant “she’s Having a Baby”
Theres a teen pregnancy film with Kirsten Dunst..cant Remember the title.
@@Aurora-qn2dx I think it's called 16 and pregnant
Juno is a similar movie
People used to have standards. No one has any shame now
I knew there was a good reason I never cared to see this movie when it was new. The over the top acting, the melodrama, etc., I see movies to escape real life
Professor Joyce Freud
Really sick how grandma is advocating for murdering her grandchild
She’s advocating for her daughter not ruining two lives.
Terrible mother
good mother protecting her daughter from ruining her life
@@KS-cl8brtrue, but she was very selfish and self focused.
@@KS-cl8br how is she a good mother. She didn't give her daughter a choice. It's not for parents to decide
@@KS-cl8br Interesting how you viewed that
@@KS-cl8bra baby doesn't ruin your life get a clue
What an awful mother
Vanilla custardy yogurt
Her mom is right
Wrong
He’s one of the cutest guy I’d ever seen
This was a really good movie.
Is the little girl Victoria justice 🤔
Victoria Justice wasn’t even born when this film came out 😂 she was born 1993 this film is from 1988
