    I have to say, it took me about 5 times playing this to see the whole video. Your voice, the music, the softness of the construction...I kept falling asleep. I am not a sewing person but I appreciate great craftsmanship. Now to watch part 4, which I have probably played about 5 times also, but have never seen.
    (I am watching this series as I wait for the next segment of Hogwarts train dress to be released.) 👍🏼👍🏼🥰

    I am going to give this a go!
    When I first started sewing. I went for a dress in this style... and failed... twice. 13 years later and hopefully some confidence here, I am tackle this.
    Thank you for walking me through this!

    Its looking fab! This is definately going to help for when I go to sew mine! I'd never even thought about the gore allowance on the overdress, for some reason I got it into my head it was just one massive rectangle. At least this solves my conundrum of pocket hoop access haha

    • @EnchantedRoseCostumes
      @EnchantedRoseCostumes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you ❤ so happy to hear that this has helped! I would love to see your gown when it is finished! In the simplicity pattern by AD the gore is cut as one with the front skirt which is a lot quicker then adding a gore, but it isn't as economical on the fabric side 😊 if you go to the American Duchess channel Lauren has a video on the gore 😊

    Oh wow this is beautiful! Could u use stretchy fabric? Would it work?

    • @EnchantedRoseCostumes
      @EnchantedRoseCostumes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I wouldn't recommend stretchy fabric as the gown is built on a non-stretch base, and I have no idea how it would hold up. But if you really wanted to experiment, by all means give stretchy fabric a go ☺

    Do you use a specific presser foot for the silk? And have you had any problems with the silk stretching when cutting the pattern?:)

    • @EnchantedRoseCostumes

      I just used a regular pressing foot. As for the silk stretching, I didn't notice if it did 😊

    One more question... what size fabric did you use? 45" or 60"?

  • @mnels5214
    @mnels5214 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can't wait for the final installment! I had a question about the hem - some sacque gowns look like the hem is just pinked, is that an illusion or is that a period option? Thanks!

    • @EnchantedRoseCostumes
      @EnchantedRoseCostumes  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can't back this up, but my guess would be that it is an illusion or it is the trim that is added to make the bottom look pinked. Because the location of the hem it gets a ton wear and tear so it would need to be strong. 😊
