"This ain't a safe place for you" to the bookcloaks coming to hate on the show was an insta-sub line. Fellow long-time lover of the books (like 30 years+) & fan of the show, looking forward to your reactions!
Yeah, after 3 years I'm just tired of it. I welcome honest critique of the show and the adaptation but so many of the bookcloak arguments include offensive or out of pocket comments that are just dog whistles. Not here for it anymore.
So.... That person who was being weird and homophobic in the comments is GONE! I was very serious about deleting comments, y'all. 😂😂😂😂😂 Sorry to everyone who replied but your comments disappeared too. I also adjusted the title to "sapphic wizard" cuz the comments are right, Moiraine is bisexual in the books and relatively unlabeled in the show. So "sapphic" is being used here for all versions of our QUEEN!
I loved hearing your WoT journey! I’m a long time book reader and I’ve really been enjoying the show. Thank you for the reaction video! Super excited for season three in March!!
What a great reaction. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to your series reactions/breakdowns - I love watching other bookreaders who love the books and understand the shows limitations. I am much like you, in that I read the first couple of books over and over waiting for publishing and didn't read the back half as much (though still a lot XD). I also love the show, and seeing a new adaptation and how the story gets retold (and changed! The story HAS to change to over time become the Arthur myth!) is very exciting to me. So thank you! Here's to looking forward to the future!
"I need Amazon to do better." Preach! They definitely need to bring back the 10 episode seasons...at minimum. Really enjoyed your thoughts, and can't wait to see your reactions for s3.
TV shows in general have really lost something with these 8 episode runs for EVERY show. I know a 22 ep season wouldn't work for a show that needs this kind of budget and scale but 10-13 episodes is definitely doable. I know the showrunner and production team were originally planning for 10-ep seasons and had to cut them down. Which is a real shame.
I will say that they seem to have made a virtue out of the requirement, 8 has become the symbolic number for this turning - 8 forsaken, 8 ajahs, possibly 8 aiel clans, 8 episodes, plans for 8 seasons.
I am a long time reader of the books, and overall I love the show. Like you said, they have actually improved on certain aspects of the characters and relationships. I'm glad I found your channel through a WoT fan who is compiling Season 3 reaction videos on Blue Sky. I am looking forward to your videos!
I just can't wait to see more of the Aiel in S3. I'm looking forward to that the most. Also, I actually didn't talk too much about it but that shot of Alanna and Liandrin clearly battling. I can already tell it's going to be a dope fight scene.
SPOILERS: guessing the new characters shown 18:25 Couladin 18:40 Galad 19:53 Faile 20:54 (short) ....Elaine with prosthetics in a disguise? 20:56 Rand's first glass column vision (his parents) 21:35 short hair Moiraine? I can't tell but I'm guessing this is a Moiraine vision of the worst possible outcome
SPOILERS The way I could nawt remember either brother's name. 😂 I knew it was one of the them, though. I kept thinking "Green Knight, Green Knight, Green Knight..." in my head since I always associate Gawyn with his namesake from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. I'm guessing it's the quarterstaff sparring session. Also, good guesses for 20:54 and 21:35
I'm a book reader and listener. If you like audiobooks then these are a great option for your reread. I have only listened to the original narrators and love them but everyone says that Rosamund Pike's versions are fantastic too.
I love this show. I've already read WOT as it was written multiple times. It's cool to see the story in a way that makes me think differently about it. Thanks for your content.
Thank you for checking out my channel! Yeah, it's very interesting seeing adaptations because you really get to see how someone else interprets things or what they find important for a story. I've seen so many other interesting perspectives. Especially on tumblr and Twitter of Time.
This teaser is what finally inspired me to pick up Crossroads of Twilight again, after weeks of not feeling the passion anymore. Can’t wait to get past it, and into the final stretch of this epic series :D
Yeah, that one and the one prior to it were a bit tough to get through for me on the first read through. But it picks up after that, imo. I'm so happy the teaser trailer made you pick up the books again. I hope you enjoy the rest of the ride!
Thank you for sharing your reaction. I do think a lot of this is flicker flicker for Moiraine - but in the context of what she sees in Rhuidean. Not sure if the one with her in regalia is a future where she is Amrylin or where she ascends the throne
Yay for fighting against the Bookcloaks! I've been reading WoT since early '92 (my freshman year of college) and I lost count of rereads along the way. And the show is GREAT! There are problematic things in the books and the show, but that's no reason not to enjoy it. I look forward to watching your content and Season 3!
As a book reader I had my criticism after season 1, but after season 2 have kind of left my book bias behind and am just enjoying the show being presented. This season looks like it will be the best one yet.
The show def made a few choices I didn't agree with in S1 and S2 but nothing that truly upset me. And they can absolutely recover from or improve upon a lot in future seasons.
The full length is on Patreon first. I will be cutting the reactions down for TH-cam and posting them here after the new year. I just haven't had time to edit as much as I'd like so it's easier to put them on Patreon ahead of time and circle back around for the edited version later.
Book reader here. I find it a tad bit disturbing how the "oh noes it turned woke for the Show!" - crowd seems to have skipped the fact that the books are not only *strongly* involved in gender complexities but also*really* kinky - there's more than just a ton of very BDSM-based relation dynamics... just saying. I liked that with Lanfear it sneaks a bit into the show, though the show is still a bit overly spectacular and a tad bit coy at the same time. However S2 was insanely better than S1 already and I have great hopes for 3🧐. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz

Big WoT book and show lover here ❤ Just found your channel and LOVE your reaction!! What was your fav part of the teaser (sorry if I missed that!!)?

I think most of the scenes with Moiraine/Lanfear/injured Rand are from when she goes through the rings in Rhuidean...
Yes! I remembered the word "Rhuidean" after I finished recording and had to just slap myself. 😂😂😂😂

Love Rosamund’s reading/acting on the books. So far I’m on Book 3 and they just released her narration of Book 4. Stoked!
This is exactly what I was looking for

It's Couladin! Clock the dragon tats.
You're right!
This was so fun - very excited for season 3 reviews

Possibly it's a version of the world where Moiraine and Siuan chose different roles after the foretelling with Gitara?

ey! happy to have found another safe space from the toxic lol hi there!

Hype🎉
Book reader here love WoT and I'm sad that the TV show did make big mistakes in session 1 but i still love that the Show exists and cant wait.
The show def made a few choices I didn't agree with in S1 and S2 but nothing that truly upset me. And they can absolutely recover from or improve upon a lot in future seasons.
