Cause it kinda failed at what a sequel is supposed to do. Rian Johnson wanted to make his mark in Star Wars. I totally respect that. But when it comes to making the second movie in a trilogy, sadly, he kinda failed. Last Jedi = Good movie. Bad sequel.
I like the movie too, because it takes risks and I don't think it broke Luke. He wouldn't have killed Ben, that's right. But a loyal jedi would have. Obi-Wan wanted Luke to kill Vader in RoTJ. That's part of the reason why he turns from the force, because the ways of the jedi are going to cause the whole cycle of death and the dark side again. Then Yoda tells him that the jedi codex isn't written in stone. That they can correct the mistakes the jedi have made in the past. And that Luke can let his power grow by teaching Rey the mistakes the jedi have made. That's what causes Luke to become a legend again, exactly what the universe needed to ignite the spark of hope the resistance so desperately have been looking for. The arc for Poe is to learn a lesson so he can lead the resistance. He didn't trust Holdo and she didn't trust him, and that made him, Finn and Rose so desperate to find help with a plan that on one hand failed but on the other hand did exactly what their goal was.
It's a good thing that I didn't support this movie by watching it in theaters because I would've been that person who yells out "I'm Marry Poppins Y'all" when Leia was floating in outer space.
why I liked the last Jedi: the movie showed a different sided of the star wars universe, the canto bite scenes showed us what effect the war has on the rest of the galaxy. people complain that Snoke was under used, but think about the emperor in the og trilogy, when u think about it Snoke was more thought out then the emperor and more importantly, allowed Ben to fully realize his dark sided and show his true evil sided. now the hard part... luke. not hard because he was written badly but because people see him as the ultimate source of wisdom, pure good. but luke was never meant to be that, that was always Yoda and Kenobi. luke was rash, running off when his masters told him not to, thin about it, ep5 when he goes to fight Vader even tho Yoda said not to. luke doesn't do the right thing all the time, he knows what it is and trys to do it, but he's an emotionally driven character. he nearly killed Vader in his anger, but he stopped himself, just like what happened with ben. and that's why he's so relatable and why I love the movie. if u hate it, well your the one missing out on a star war film to watch when u got nothing better to do.
Nebulon Lord Of Darkness Nope, Luke was supposed to be just that. The last hope. Luke was the guy, who believed in redemption to the end (his father's end, I mean). He was the guy who tossed away his weapon in face of the Emperor, because he prefered to die in pain, then to take a chance of redemption from his father and betray everything, he believed in. Rewatch original trillogy. Most people hate TLJ Luke for one reason: there was no reason for his sudden change from idealistic Jedi to child-murdering asshole. Yeah, Emperor was not used much in OT. But he waa menacing, viewers feared him since his first apperance in TESB, and hype for him got fulfilled in RotJ. While Snoke got insanely hyped in TFA, but in TLJ he was presented as laguable. Yeah, Canto Bright did just that, but sloppily. There are dozens SW novels and comicbooks that show it better
Honest Happy Hater difference of opinion/interpretation, I see Luke as implosive, u disagree and tbh I don’t want to argue as last time that happened in a TH-cam comment section I spent 2 weeks arguing wether Snape was a good guy or asshole. Bye bye
"the movie showed a different sided of the star wars universe, the canto bite scenes showed us what effect the war has on the rest of the galaxy." Rogue one went there before... And clones wars too. And they did far better with less superficiality and more relevance. "people complain that Snoke was under used, but think about the emperor in the og trilogy, when u think about it Snoke was more thought out then the emperor and more importantly, allowed Ben to fully realize his dark sided and show his true evil sided." Except the emperor was never really teased like Snoke. The empire was established before he even got a chance to show up in the first movie. Then he get the whole prelogy to have more devleoppement. Snoke, on the other hand, land 30 years later, destroy everything the heroes had done in the OT, rebuild the empire and is even stronger as a force user than Vador or the emperor showed themselve to be. This is a second generation vilain, he can't come from nowhere. "now the hard part... luke. not hard because he was written badly but because people see him as the ultimate source of wisdom, pure good. but luke was never meant to be that, that was always Yoda and Kenobi. luke was rash, running off when his masters told him not to, thin about it, ep5 when he goes to fight Vader even tho Yoda said not to. luke doesn't do the right thing all the time, he knows what it is and trys to do it, but he's an emotionally driven character. he nearly killed Vader in his anger, but he stopped himself, just like what happened with ben. and that's why he's so relatable and why I love the movie. if u hate it, well your the one missing out on a star war film to watch when u got nothing better to do." Except Luke was like that in the OT. But at the end of the OT, when, facing the emperor, after he spare his own murderous father, he trow his light saber, revealing to be true Jedi, forgiving his father and giving him a chance of redemption. The guys redeemed Dark Vador, the second most evil dude in the galaxy and almost let himslef fried to death for that. From that kind of point, you can't revert back to a whiny arrogant brat that would think to kill is nephew because there is a bit of dark side in him.

Last Jedi = Good movie. Bad sequel.
I don’t get why you think it was a good movie. Could someone please explaine me the plot? I missed it obviosly.
“Where’s my popcorn?” Literally me every time I watch this discourse 😂
It's a good thing that I didn't support this movie by watching it in theaters because I would've been that person who yells out "I'm Marry Poppins Y'all" when Leia was floating in outer space.
This is probably my favorite recap rap.
why I liked the last Jedi:
the movie showed a different sided of the star wars universe, the canto bite scenes showed us what effect the war has on the rest of the galaxy.
people complain that Snoke was under used, but think about the emperor in the og trilogy, when u think about it Snoke was more thought out then the emperor and more importantly, allowed Ben to fully realize his dark sided and show his true evil sided.
now the hard part... luke. not hard because he was written badly but because people see him as the ultimate source of wisdom, pure good. but luke was never meant to be that, that was always Yoda and Kenobi. luke was rash, running off when his masters told him not to, thin about it, ep5 when he goes to fight Vader even tho Yoda said not to. luke doesn't do the right thing all the time, he knows what it is and trys to do it, but he's an emotionally driven character. he nearly killed Vader in his anger, but he stopped himself, just like what happened with ben. and that's why he's so relatable and why I love the movie. if u hate it, well your the one missing out on a star war film to watch when u got nothing better to do.
Nebulon Lord Of Darkness
Nope, Luke was supposed to be just that.
Bye bye
Nebulon Lord Of Darkness
Snape was both a good guy and an asshole.
Bye bye you as well
MUST... RESIST... ERG... TO... ARGUE
"the movie showed a different sided of the star wars universe, the canto bite scenes showed us what effect the war has on the rest of the galaxy."
Rogue one went there before... And clones wars too. And they did far better with less superficiality and more relevance.
"people complain that Snoke was under used, but think about the emperor in the og trilogy, when u think about it Snoke was more thought out then the emperor and more importantly, allowed Ben to fully realize his dark sided and show his true evil sided."
Except the emperor was never really teased like Snoke.
"now the hard part... luke. not hard because he was written badly but because people see him as the ultimate source of wisdom, pure good. but luke was never meant to be that, that was always Yoda and Kenobi. luke was rash, running off when his masters told him not to, thin about it, ep5 when he goes to fight Vader even tho Yoda said not to. luke doesn't do the right thing all the time, he knows what it is and trys to do it, but he's an emotionally driven character. he nearly killed Vader in his anger, but he stopped himself, just like what happened with ben. and that's why he's so relatable and why I love the movie. if u hate it, well your the one missing out on a star war film to watch when u got nothing better to do."
Except Luke was like that in the OT.
I thought the sequel trilogy was pretty bad, but your recap raps are great.
So I like both the last Jedi and Hawaiian pizza
Why isn't this rap set to the soundtrack like the other Recap Raps? It doesn't matter, I'm just wondering. I like this one.

The last jedi was probably the most humorous of them all.
What about the Droid attack on the Wookies?
I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating. And it gets everywhere.
Alexandru Chirita But not here. Here everything is soft. Smooth.
UnovaKid 24 not necessarily a good thing
UnovaKid 24
It had the most puns out of them all, but it was the least funny
