I am Christian as well, and I agree with you that Christianity is about your relationship with Jesus. Religion is very man-made and focuses on maintaining your deeds of being a "good" person so you'll earn your way to Heaven. Jesus died on the cross to give us the free gift of salvation and I don't see how that could be a religion at all! Although we are called to obey the ten commandments because it is what's best for us, we will always fall short and sin but the good news is that Jesus still loves us all the same. Religion is a belief system that was set in play to divide us. Their is no reason for God to make us religious. He made us Spiritual. That connection she speaks of is a spiritual connection.
