Thank you. I'm a west seneca ny native. I grew up fishing and exploring buffalo creek in gardenville where Charles lived. These paintings bring back so many childhood visual memories of a place I left long ago. Amazing artist, love his art legacy dearly.
I just discovered Burchfield in Feb 2020 when I started oil painting and someone remarked that my work had his style. I have been in awe ever since and long to see a painting of his in person.
Burchfield was tapped into something deeply spiritual, and he depicted it movingly. My appreciation of him continues to grow. Thanks for this--there are lots of pictures here I've never seen before.
Only a small portion of the collection is on view at a time, and it rotates. Still, the Burchfield Penny Art Center is worth visiting. I've been there twice. They also host traveling exhibits of modern art..@@helga4791
Einzigartige Bilder, leider gibt es wenig bis nichts auf Deutsch über ihn. Mir gefällt die mystische, eigenwillig empfundene Atmosphäre, sowie die Originalität.
I am the granddaughter of Charles Burchfield. I know his work, and this is not his work! It’s pretty disgusting that someone would post this stuff and not take the time to authenticate the images. If you really want to know about the artwork of Charles Burchfield, then visit the Burchfield Penny Art Center on Elmwood Ave in Buffalo New York. I could take the time to go through this artwork and point out the imitations. my goodness, if you’re going to copy his work, the very least you could do is get his signature, correct!

My personal favorite fine artist. I mean there -are~ a million really great painters, but Charlie's designs are tiptop interesting. Timeless.
Thanks for adding this. One of the most underrated American artists. You should see the Burchfield Museum in Buffalo, amazing to see in person.
That is on my list since I have heard of him. Do they have his entire collection there?

Walter Inglis Anderson. His spiritual, Southern twin. The Inlander (CEB) and the Islander (WIA).
