A young Stephen Hendry playing in today’s game would be well clear on the most ranking tournament wins considering how many ranking events we have now. Same goes for century breaks, with tournaments every other week he would have gone well past the 1000 mark. Class act
@@Mick-Dempsey Thanks mick. Sometimes think people can be disrespectful to guys who played 80s and 90s. We always here how the standard is better but I see no difference now from the 90s the very best keep dominating and make everyone else look average. If Hendry played 25-30 ranking events a season on heated tables with super fine cloth and 3G balls he would have racked up numbers nobody would have every reached .

Agree mate. That cue action is unparalleled. Nobody has that. Lee’s cue action is out of this world. There are so many shots he can only play. Hope he comes back. So great to watch
alex paic unfortunately when you suffer with the yips as Stephen has admitted, your cue action breaks down under pressure. In practice like this it’s silky but he’s losing to players in the seniors who haven’t had anything of a snooker career

Hendry hasn’t lost the ability to make big breaks but he didn’t have the confidence and momentum to take it through a whole tournament to win, having the ability is one thing but the confidence and belief needs to be there as well and that was the side of it that was gradually eroded away by bad results and that’s why he retired 7 years ago.
No he isn't. Hendry was a great player and champion, but he played in a weak era where he didn't face much opposition. This became quite clear in the 2000's, when he couldn't win major titles anymore and was finished aged 30. Ronnie O'Sullivan is the GOAT.
@Wayne Holmes you don't no.much about snooker then when a player as won 19 of the triple crown events and 36 ranking titles and over a 1000 centuries means they can play a bit
@Wayne Holmes well how can you say Hendry is the greatest of all time when osullivan as smashed every record apart from the world champs and hes 43 and still winning events against world class players
Depends how long the cue is, how far (on average) the bridge hand is from the cue ball, etc. The only real goal is to ensure your forearm drops vertically when the tip is right up to the cue ball.
@@tomnorton7817 There is no real way to hold the cue/how far back you should take the cue when cueing up/how long a pause should be before hitting the cue ball Everyone is different and what works for one person won't necessarily work for another It doesn't matter how you hold the cue or play the game - if you can pot balls and win frames in one visit (or sometimes 2 or 3 visits), that's all that matters

Dont you forget, Stephen was a 7 time World Snooker Champion winner. A King of Cricible.
The ref was quite distracting
That's part of the comeback high level training
I noticed he has his old cue action back. Not the jabby quick action of exhibitions. Come on Stephen, make a come back and be hendry the eighth.

Why is hendry not still playing
Can’t stop watching the foot instead of Stephen
Hendrys still got IT
Stephen high end hendry
That ref though 🤤

was that mark Williams at the end who stepped into frame??
Yeah you can tell from the puff of the cheeks
