@Robdoespokemon yeah man. I'm just wondering - is there truly a secondary market for something so accessible? I agree, it sounds cool. But who's buying slabs on ebay if you're able to just keep breaking cards, sticking in the machines, over and over again. Part of the allure of PSA is the wait time. It also adds value to the card, because it add scarcity.
Personally, I think modern plays will die due to volume. The secondary market will absolutely cook all the value out of getting a card slabbed.

TAG grading is awesome. I like the fact I don’t have to ship my card and wait several weeks before coming back. The only person who can touch my card is a machine that does AI grading with set standards. I hope to see a machine soon.

Well that was interesting. I'm unconvinced that PSA are going anywhere but we'll see, maybe TAG will surprise me. I need to look into that claim that TAG slabs are selling for more. 🤔 The tech stuff is way over my head so maybe it's more exciting than it sounds. Tell him to send some of those grading machines to the UK! We have a large population and Pokémon is massive here. Our market is there for the taking. Ace won't be hard to remove. PSA has neglected us for years so if TAG comes here I'll be a customer for life.

@monkey39128 I'm questioning what's selling for more as well. The sales data provided can't be accurate as there are a ton more psa slabs out there and selling than there are tag slabs. How do I know sold listing's chosen weren't cherry picked? I need the average of all sold listing's over that 1-2 weeks time frame chosen to compare price accurately. Also need the total number of sales of each weighed against the total number of listing's of each available during those same 2 weeks for volume/liquidity.
Even if tag does come out higher in price, I doubt they will match the volume. The fact that a ton of vendors don't deal with slabs outside of psa due to liquidity is a big reason why premium grading companies with the 10+ grades struggle to appreciate in the market as they should.
Will the market still perceive tag as more valuable if tag had the same amount of cards listed for sale as psa does?
I love and respect their mission, no doubt they are gunna change the industry and be a successful market disrupter but the odds feel stacked against them for overtaking psa as the market leader.
It says a lot about someone who will do a complete 180 on TAG when Jesse is in the stream.
I think people are going to have to slowly get acclimated to AI grading, I don't think it will take over the established grading companies within the next few years. PSA isn't just known for grading cards, they do other products as well and people trust the name. People need to see cost/aesthestics/value and see if its worth it. Al doesn't know what LP, NM, MINT, Gem mint is, they will have to be programmed by people to determine how to evaluate each, so even each AI grading product may still have differences b/t them if we are being picky, but taking the subjectivity out of the equation is a positive, and cost/time savings will attract some people, only time will tell.

A.I grading will be the future. Tag won't be, unless they change their metrics. The probstein TAG vs PSA looks shell bid. look up eBay auctions on any card. tag goes for half of PSA 10. Look at the back of a TAG 10. it looks like a PSA 8-9.
Also what are these comparisons with google and blockbuster? in hindsight there is always a company that starts small and takes over. How many small companies tried to be google or netflix or amazon afterwards and failed? I don't understand. This is a 100% certainty if you are making the comparison to the company that is already successful. I'll keep watching the video if someone can explain this to me but otherwise it just looks like a scam.
TAG needs to come up with content showing how their AI and technology work. People will use TAG if they feel it’s legit. TAG can’t just be like HGA and say they use AI and can’t show or explain how it worked because it (HGA) doesn’t use AI for grading and said they did. Saying that…
Pre-covid, no one thought PSA would be clear cut #1 and BGS be garbage. BGS is clearly garbage now so even tho I don’t think TAG can get to #1, it can certainly disrupt like CGC and SGC (collector’s bought it).

I don’t believe 90% of his comps, but you should do a follow-up question to why they like PSA besides slabs selling for more than others. 99% of PSA sheeps don’t know why they like PSA. They just follow the perceived norm and hate and judge others for not sheeping like them.

Scalping for pris is out of control. There's over 1000 etbs for sale in NJ on fb market place scalped selling over for 2x+ msrp, guys grabbing entire displays from store for packs and immediately resisting them. Stores complaining about only getting 1 case from distro but guys on fb marketplace shamelessly showing 6 cases. Its disgustingly sad times man

@Tony_3XL ill never buy off a scalper, a company created a product for my use and consumption and people that don't intend to use it are trying to force me to pay more than double like some tax or tarrif. Its extortion. I feel sick in my stomach when I see other people paying the extortion tax, wouldn't be able to live with my self if I paid it too.

Jesus what a photo perfect tech bro. I agree with alot of what hes saying but ive met his type much too often. No touch with the earth anymore and sees others as inferior unless you agree or are helping him achieve his goals. To him its all a game and a puzzle.

Biggest problem he's going to have is brand recognition. People don't go to PSA because they're the best, they go because they're the most recognisable brand in the industry. PSA haven't been the best for years but we all still use them. Beckett grades a lot harder so if that was all it took then we'd all be using them.
@monkey39128 exactly my thoughts as well. Passing a market leader needs more than just innovation, and for the market to leader to adopt innovation to their massive operation scale, vendors need to take on risk. They gotta stop rejecting slabs outside of psa or take a stand againt psa by not buying/selling them. Luckily for us it's a bull market, risk may be our friend.
@@redmurdera Needs demand, and no one wants Tesla's anymore so that was not the best example. PSA is ingrained in the hobby, it would belike McDonalds going bankrupt in the restaurant business.
