A beautiful garden that is definitely going somewhere ❤ The deep wine or purplish foliage / leaves in-between medium green colours is most captivating I think, in my own pond garden. Truly pops & most stunning & elegant!
Your garden is such a haven for bees during the nectar dearth of September! The dark ajuga looks fresher and more dramatic to me. The variegated one could brighten the area, though, if that's what you want. It can look a bit dry from a distance.
I leave my black eyed susans for the birds during winter and cut back in Spring to new growth. This year they have been prolific! Well pleased. Your table is beautifully situated. What a gorgeous place to sit and dine outdoors ❤
@OlgaCarmody darker and rose colored ajuga are my favorites. Do you plant woodland plants like trillium early spring rhizomes and naturaling bulbs that drift. Of course yellow daffodils and jonquil, and narcissis are the dominant color but there are many ,many other varieties and intriguing colors. I prefer to buy and use daffodils because they are consistent and pretty much rodent resistant where as tulips are a squirrel buffet. Will hosta grow in your zone or is it too cold
It is amazing how sedums and succulents are always so faithful to show out. I am a fan of the mexican sunflower tilothiea ,i think its called. The foliage is veveteen soft to the touch, and the blooms are fire orange to reddish in color. Verbena is a wonderful rose companion. Olga, have you tried lemon, german,or wooly thyme around and about your rose beds. I have had good results with thyme ,low growing and creeping in my rose beds. Mexican heather is a full sun annual with a voracious blooming habit of little pimkish purple blooms and it is non invasive, but its biggest asset is a very stong attraction for honey 🐝. It is honey bee candy and they will come for from miles around to feast and gather.
I should just go ahead and try thyme with my roses. Nice ground cover, rabbits probably will avoid it and won't bother young shoots on roses. Good suggestion, you talked about it in the past, very good. I will try it in spring around my Lady of Shallot.
Lsvender, yarrow ,sages ,and salvia,s along with citris scented perennials are proven to detour rabbits. Any thing with a pungent citrus fragrance. Citronella plant and scented geraniums might also help your dilemma.

I agree, the variegated variety can look bleached out and somewhat busy. Hm, thank you!
Thanks for the tour, You have a beautiful garden.
Thanks for visiting.

Thanks Olga for the visit to your garden , it always looks beautiful! I think maybe the light ajuga would be pretty👍😎❤️❤️
Thank you! Ajuga is tough and resilient, hope it will take shade with a happy face!

Beautiful garden ❤❤❤
I like both ajugas ! I enjoy the green the most when is in bloom And the other one in the cooler days seems to have different colors!.❤
I think that I like the drama of the darker ajuga. Hm, don't know....
Your garden is so beautiful. I think the variegated ajuga will look great in the front.
Thank you, the majority of gardeners think the same.
@@OlgaCarmody your so welcome.
I have learned so much from watching your videos.
I love Verbenas and also your chair 💜
The off white of the chair and the color of verbena is a very good visual combo!
Beautiful hydrangeas, ajugas, and sedums! Careful with that vinca - it can be such a thug!
I know, but it gets out so easily in a way. I will weed it all out from that front strip.
Very nice! You have a wonderful garden.
The Autumn Joy sedum looks more like Neon to me. My Autumn Joy is very dusty terracotta.
Hm, for me dusty terracotta would be Autumn Fire…..
🥰🌈🌹
hi! I so enjoyed this tour :) I wonder if you can share where you like to buy pots for outdoor plants? I hate the plastic ones from big stores...
I am afraid I don't have any great solutions. I am in the process of making my own pots and will be showing them soon. Stay tuned.
