The logo looks cool, that sticker would look great on the side of my snowboarding helmet. Question about the merch, what currency is it priced in? Just shows "$", couldn't seem to find it on the website anywhere if it was CAD vs USD (or maybe even AUD?)
Ah! Thank you for pointing this out! It's been a big learning curve with the merch store and these questions are very useful! I have now managed to put it all in USD and could only put a couple of disclaimer signs for "the prices are USD" as the website doesn't allow too many custom options!
It's great that you have such a positive attitude to the snow. Most people would see the constant efforts needed to deal with the snow as a huge burden. You seem to get enjoyment from it. Inspiring!!!
This can be my new favorite ASMR video! Any versions of sounds of snow are soothing even you are fighting against the highly piled snow by the bathroom windows😂. You don’t need any background music.
I live in Hawaii and from my perspective, that snow looks AWESOME! The realistic side of me says, hire someone else to do the job…lol. 😊 Great video Matt and stay safe too! Aloha from Maui 🐳
Love watching all your snow. I know it’s a pain for you. But here in Queensland Australia we are melting in high 30s with high humidity. 🥵 So snow looks good to me. But I wouldn’t like shovelling it tho. Thanks for sharing 😊🐨🇦🇺
The Snows Gorgeous! Light & Fluffy There must be some old snow saws around for you to cube the snow in your "back & side yards", knock over onto the street & slide them out with your scoop like the roof top clearers do
i would have already bought a snowblower or a tractor & keep it in the shed lol.. this is A LOT, and you have to do this EVERY year! 😅 Lol… loving the vlogs tho!!!
With all that snow piled up in your garden space, I’d be making a snow castle or a snow cave and chill in it. Lol see how warm it is in there. You know snow is kinda like an insulator.
If you don't have one I recommend getting a shovel like they use for back country skiing and split boarding. I keep one in my cars and they have been lifesavers.
Can you use soil heating cable as a cheap way to melt the snow near the house / in the garden? I know ice is a potential problem as you don't want runoff to make its way to the street. You could even shallow bury the wire in a section of the garden which might keep the soil unfrozen and draining and push snow to that section anytime of day.
This is insane snow matt!! here in Fukui-ken echizen-shi we are having a very uncommon winter, we have absolutely no snow, and you there in nagano buried in it LOL
That green metal "shovel" you're using is what they use in Siberia to shovel snow. I've never seen one of those anywhere in snow country in the US, but they seem to work really well. You're getting the 30' of snow fall we received last year in California, and this year we're not really getting any yet. Mind you, Feb and March are our biggest snowfall months, traditionally, in the mountains of California (Big Bear in SoCal, Mammoth in central Cal, and Lake Tahoe). It looks like this would get old *very* quickly. It's a good thing you're as young as you are. Hopefully, you're elderly neighbors will share their wisdom. I know you're super athletic and strong, but considering you've had a back injury, please do be extra mindful.
Anyone there think of heating the roof and having a large cistern or drainage system? Seems like there could be a way to benefit from all that ice and snow.
I've seen plenty of snow in my life, but not like this! Ha! Good luck with this. When does it stop snowing? And, how long does it take to melt? What direction do your rivers flow from Myoko?
Have you thought of building an open carport (roof with no sides) between the garage and house to help with your vehicle not being snowed in all the time?
Awesome snow, but the people that built your house obviously knew they got too much snow. You need to put slats/ shutters on the hooks you have outside the windows. That way your windows will be protected. That is what they are for. Did the house not come with them?
How do people dry laundry there? Do you hang it inside or go to a coin laundry? I live in Kagoshima and we hang it outside even in winter as long as its sunny and inside if not.
why are you shoveling off the roof? I would think the roofs in that area are designed for a heavy snow load. Its only a $5k house why risk falling off and breaking a bone. You could damage that roof too while walking/shoveling on it

I just can not imagine working a full time job and STILL having to deal with that much snow 😂
house in japan's snow country :$6000
digging yourself out of your shower : priceless
....for everything else there's Mastercard
Wow a huge amount of work. Blessings and health.❤

sending you warm vibes from florida!❤
"Too much snow" god I wish I could say that lol, that amount of snow is just amazing!
So much snow! Glad you enjoy it.
Absolutely love the channel Matt, the content is great and so relaxing. Thanks for sharing!
At least you'll always stay fit because all that shoveling looks like a workout! #lifehacks 🤣

You got SNOW snow. Like all of the snow!
What a truly beautiful peacefull life 🎉🙏❤🪷✨️💫🌸

That is really cool. I’d love to live in Japan.
my innate desire to monkey around would have had me shoveling the snow into the shower and melting it with hot water lmao
Am I the only one thinking about turning the shower on and shovelling that snow into the shower to melt 🤣
No, spraying the snow with a how water current, so it melts onto a street and runs down the drain or freezes into ice, whichever comes first
Only an Australian could get so excited about large snow falls ;)
Canadian and American too.

You must really love to ski 😅
I have never seen so much snow!
雪かき、楽しめられれば最高ですね! 無理されませんように。Nice merchandise, I'll think about it😊
japan can make me fall in love with snow again, i would literally try to swim in it lol
Its a full time job, snow clearing!😮

You should get a harness setup on your roof much safer. Thank you for the video

I wonder if there is an alternative maybe even geometric solution to all this snow. I know in the Eropean alps the houses have really huge overhangs.
That is Awesome!

I'll give you two more snow digging seasons in that house before you sell it. 😂😍
Plot twist... Matt makes enough from youtube videos shovelling snow that he doesn't need to do anything else 😂
Dealing with that much snow cleaning seems to be a Sisyphean task 😂
気をつけてね。

Im curious, how do people who work all day, 5-6 days a week, maintain this amount of snow, pretty much on the daily basis?
You will need to put up your “window bars” for next year or even possibly this year
Might consider removable heated mats for the next year. >_
God I miss snow. Relocated to New Mexico and we really don't get anything in Albuquerque.
Will be interesting to see how quick it melts. What happens when it rains?
snow season should be fun, but not in such amount
if you dont do the roofs ... would anything bad happen?
I really love snow. I wish I wasnt so ill, id live more north cuz its so beautiful
Can they do like heated coils on the roof and windows? Assuming that would maybe help with the snow levels?
I've seen plenty of snow in my life, but not like this! Ha! Good luck with this. When does it stop snowing? And, how long does it take to melt? What direction do your rivers flow from Myoko?

I need to move there damnit

Where do you park your car

try to make igloo and have some fun :)
Work has you snowed in 😅
What do the older people do , they can't shovel like you , or is it not as big of an issue as you make it out to be?
Is there anyone you can hire with a private snowplow to come take a lot of this away?
why are you shoveling off the roof? I would think the roofs in that area are designed for a heavy snow load. Its only a $5k house why risk falling off and breaking a bone. You could damage that roof too while walking/shoveling on it
Now that dig out the window’s start boarding the windows up, please please
You need someone with a front end loader to clean out your backyard. At least you're in good shape. Best Regards and Best Wishes!
how long does such an intense winter last in this region?
It's actually relatively short. Mid December until early March. The snow doesn't melt until mid to late April in heavy snow years though
Suspect you will not like it so much in another 20 years 😂😂😂😂. Take care of your back dude 😢😢😢
if u keep this snow you will have free water when it melts XD
it why this house was "cheap" - snow issue
Go outside where the snow is and shovel our correctly doing it through an open window is ssssooo not correct.
OK if you're young but horrid if you're old.
