She played it so well, being proud of Tiffany as well as devastated, thats a tough balance.
To every person out there like Doggett with an LD who thinks they are not smart, we cry for you. Please don't give up.
I have really bad lerning disabley and people tell me all the time I am not smart and sometime I belive them but I just was Abel to graduate so I did it
@@molly4857 congrats! I don’t have a learning disability but I suffer from depression and it took me 2 years longer than most people to graduate from high school. I finished my diploma at a community college because going into my high school was too anxiety inducing for me. When I see kids with learning disorders or mental illnesses graduating on time (or even late) I feel so proud of them, because it’s truly not easy.
@@Katie-mw7pd Hey, I'm in my fifth year of college right now. Just found out I'm on academic probation. Stories like yours inspire me to keep trying. Thanks for commenting.
@@Cris-in1le in my 6th year because of mental health. I got one semester left. Keep going ♡
Danielle Brooks is the actress who will always have my admiration.
My heart broke when Doggett died...then my heart was absolutely obliterated when I saw that she had passed her GED exam. I started out really disliking Doggett in the first season, then I saw her grow, learn, and improve herself so much going from a homophobic, racist zealot to being loving and best friends with a black lesbian. I believe Doggett was always a good person despite her flaws and when I saw her ghost walking away, waving goodbye, I knew she was going to a better place.
Also, side note, Danielle Brooks is one of the best criers and just such a great actress. Her crying always breaks my heart but she does it so beautifully and naturally. Really hope she stars in many more shows and movies in the years to come.
Aj Romero. my thoughts exactly I disliked Taryn Manning "Doggette" in the beginning. She wasn't a bad person she was raised badly, but she is an outstanding actress and I'm glad the way she changed and grew during the series! The way she always put her hood on when she felt insecure or upset was like a defense mechanism. My late daughter Lexy would do the same and she passed away in 2014 long before OITNB was even thought of makes me thing of my beautiful Lexy who was only 13 when she passed away bc she was hit by a car and didn't make it! That's the worst feeling in the world and the hardest pain it's unbearable! My sweet baby rest and be at peace my sweet love!
@@taraerskine3954 I'm so terribly sorry for your loss, no parent should have to bury their child. Your daughter sounded like a thoughtful and sensitive young woman, traits that are hard to come by unfortunately.
Thank you for your comment, I agree very much that Doggett wasn't a bad person, she was just a product of her environment and strived to be a better person.
I love how she moves into the afterlife Now she is at peace and can spend an eternity with her
babies in heaven
The most heartbreaking scene
I wish tiff could know that even with the odds against her she succeeded, even proving herself wrong.
They were many students and only three of them passed the GED exam, so proud but sad at the same time that Dogget passed 😭
It was four with Doggett. Count the certificates. Either way those four that passed whose diploma we see where the ones Taystee tutored and they all passed. That's what the scene meant to portray. That she did good by all four of them. It gave her purpose.😭
If Danielle Brooks doesn’t win an award for this role, we will all be heartbroken
Danielle's acting here was on another level, the shift from overwhelming joy to sadness hit me even harder than seeing the diploma, I remember exactly where I was when I saw this scene a couple years back and luckily I watched it alone because I was bawling hard.
tiffany’s the one singing in this scene
i thought so each time it sounded like her voice through bits really well. (and it made me question it never looked into it though so thank you for fact checkin a fact i wasnt even fully aware of!!!) always cool to find out little easter eggs like that in shows and movies.
I ugly cried in this scene so bad
and she was goin end her life 😒
seee what happens ..
life can bring you down but when you LEAST expected ..here it is ....

YOU *ARE WORTH* SOMETHING 🤗

Taystee was going End her life .with the Drug she had
. then she Glanced at the table and Saw the Envelope
.opend it and wen saw Pensatuky passed
iguess that was the Moment.. it clicked .. her life Was/IS worth Something
@@lora3964 Tiffany Doggett is a character who spent most of the season trying to get her GED, because she felt like she wasn't worth anything. It came out that she had a learning disability, and therefore she was allowed extra time on her GED. She spent lots of time studying, only to find out she didn't get extra time. So she panicked until the end of the GED. She didn't get to finish it on time, and she thought she failed. So she went and overdosed on cocaine, feeling like nothing was worth it anymore.
This is Taystee. She got life in prison. She was about to end her OWN life with drugs as well, since the entire system went against her. (For context, a guard got shot and they blamed Taystee for it. She didn't deserve life in prison because she didn't shoot the guard.) A bunch of stuff went down and she felt since she didn't contribute anything to other people's lives, why should she be alive...
...until she opened this note.
Your body is worth about 80 million dollars on the black market if your body is harvested the right way. 🥰
This was so sad
Pensatucky had the greatest character development. I fooking hated the 1st season then cried when she died wrongfully. She would have been so happy to have gotten her GED. Tastee was by far the best character on this show
I cried so hard to this.. had to rewind it
The mist: he killed four people for suicide before soldiers rescue coming few minutes
The Canyon: she killed him for suicide before helicopter rescue coming few minutes
Orange is the new black: Tiffany thought GED failed and she killed herself before she finally GED passing
I honestly couldn't keep up my tears in this scene. #rippenn
We ALL sobbed with Taystee in this moment
Thank God I was at work by myself when I watched this cuz this scene kicked my a$$! I was bawling!!!
.. wait, you were watching that when you were suppose to be working? lol
Que actriz!! Dios mío, su actuación fue brutal 👌🏼
Oh how heartbreaking. Poor girl Doggett. You ended your life w/o ever seeing you had graduated. :-(
I know it’s sad that Taystee will never be free but at least the other inmates will have a guardian Angel with her there. I just wish she had a happier ending
i literally cried so much
No joke of my brother wasn't around me id be balling my eyes out 😭😭
One of numerous scenes in this series that had me bawling. Taystee was devastated by Doggett's death and even before then felt like she had nothing to live for, no purpose. I was so happy to see Doggett get her GED, Taystee was too even if she was grieving. That moment of finding hope that your efforts weren't in vain, that you made a small difference, is one of the best feelings you could ever have.
I feel really bad for dogget because I have learning disability as well and people call me stupied and sometime I belive them but joke on them because I just graduate and I sad the dogget didnt get to see that she did but this show even people who have learning disability can be smart and get to places in life
can i just point out that the song in the bg is by taryn manning and it fits really well with this scene?? made me fuckin brawl my eyes out
heartbreaking!
Yep, I teared up
When I saw this scene, I lost it 💔💔
here come the waterworks
Still makes me 😭😭😭😭😭
The saddest moment in the whole show! 😢
I hate Penzatuky at first but at the end, omg I still cry whenever I see this scene. 😢🎉
This broke me 😭😭😭
that was intense
Poor Tiffany.
This made me ugly cry
please what song is it ?
FRANCO FERRARI and if you dunno or just for some people who will read this and doesn’t know, Taryn Manning is the actress who played Pennsatucky on the series. For me, this scene made it more meaningful knowing it was Taryn’s song and voice in the background ❤️❤️
@@Smuley_ROA Definitely more meaningful!!! I just found out as well! But I can't seem to find this song anywhere on TH-cam... :(

Oh and hi Mindy!
this broke me
Tiff should have waited a little while longer.
I wouldnt have wanted to work hard and face the fact that thru all that, i failed. It’s more than you think.
Yo this shit was fucked
only ever show to make me full on ugly cry.
why was doggett so pissed at Luscheck .. what the fuck did he do ?
He was supposed to request extra time for her to take the exam bc of her learning disability
can someone please explain HOW can there be a note from Tiffany if she died before ever seeing the results?
The signature "T" stands for Tamika, who is Taystee's old friend and the current warden at the time of this scene.
Did Taystee even know Dogget that well?
Well something similar happened with me and this girl i knew in the 2nd grade. Everyone didnt like her and isolated her because she picked her nose and ate the boogers. I played with her on the basketball court when she was playing by herself and went to her birthday party (where only 1 other person showed up). She came to me many years later into adulthood that i was her only friend and i gave her hope to keep pushing. I didnt even know her like that but omg im so grateful i was there to do those things with her. It was so worth me spending 2nd grade year in that awful school, no matter what.
Tasty found her body, and helped her prepare for the test. . . For some reason its always Tasy
that was probably the saddest moment in the whole show. I legit ugly cried on this one.
I didn't think Poussey's death could be topped, but I was wrong.
Yeah, seven series and the penultimate episode got me. LOVED this storyline.
Yea this was bad. Espically due to Tiffany's development thru the show.
I'm crying so hard. This was the saddest moment in the whole show, my heart hurts
Agreed, it was heart wrecking.
