And it's a huge upgrade from what was there before. I'd compare it to the Moana walkthrough that was added at Epcot. Nothing I'd book a vacation for, but it adds much needed life to an outdated area.
The only part of this land that I don’t like is the trolls but other than that, the land overall looks pretty cool. I love the Shrek and kung fu panda areas.
Very mixed about this land. While this is an improvement from the Kidszone area. This is nowhere near the level of quality that even Illumination Avenue has. It almost feels like an offering at an international theme park that's licensing the DreamWorks name and not from Universal themselves. I hope the Universal Kid’s theme park in Dallas is better than this. Especially if they expect to charge a similar price to the main parks.
The kids park will be a bit better than this. That park will be devoted to have small lands with each IP rather than cramming a bunch into a small space like this.
You do have a point there, even though the new Dreamworks Land is an improvement from Woody Woodpecker's KidZone, it still needs a little work. If I was in charge, I would add a dark ride themed around The Bad Guys and an Animation Academy-type attraction (replacing Animal Actors) and a new DreamWorks-themed store (replacing SpongeBob StorePants). Also, the entrance to E.T. Adventure would be moved to the Hollywood section of the park. Also, it would be cool if characters from the DTVA shows make appearances (i.e. Spirit: Riding Free, Trollhunters, etc.)
One of the most impressive kid’s places at Universal is the one at Universal Studios Japan! For what it’s worth it’s absolutely massive and has lots of fun things to do for the kiddos and not just rides but a whole indoor play-place too! It’s themed to Hello Kitty, Snoopy and Sesame Street and definitely would recommend it to any families with young kids. Definite far cry from this sham mini-land though
I doubt we'll see Toon Lagoon going away anytime soon. Simpsons and Lost Continent are in need of replacements a lot sooner than Toon Lagoon is (Simpsons for licensing issues since I think I heard somewhere the contract expires soon and LC just because there are no attractions aside from a talking fountain) so I think we'll see replacements come there first.
Very impressive. Consider that Disney just redid Toon Town and it doesn't ( in my opinion ) top this. There's a lot of kinetic energy going on here, lots to look at, lots to do. I'd travel to Orlando just to play around with the buttons in Mama Luna's house. I wanted to see more of that.
it looks interesting the only thing i didn't like is that mama luna's house was a screen shooting gallery i wish it was a physical set shooting gallery
@JamieGAdaire It might happen one day, once Nickelodeon turns around and that Universal Parks and Resorts partners with Nickelodeon, Cedar Fair, and Triple Five for an elaborate one-of-a-kind Nickelodeon Universe theme park that features lands and attractions themed to different Nickelodeon IPs…
@@kiwisoup I know, but there’s plots of land perfect for expansion and the backstage area could be perfect for some expansion. While it’s a kids’ area, there could be at least some family rides perfect for kids.
Its a little disappointing knowing how close this was to being super nintendo world (CONSTRUCTION WALLS WERE UP). But its fine, literally just updating the properties of an existing kids area. Would've been nice to see an addition, maybe a dark ride or something? I bet the conversation behind the scenes was we dont have anything planned for 2024, lets get this open before Epic Universe, so they rethemed this and, its fine.
It's a bit of a turn-off that they have all the characters trying to upsell you on food left and right. I've already seen Donkey pushing food at the meet and greet, the Pinocchio animatronic, the recordings in the Kung-Fu Panda area...I get they want to make money, but I really hope this isn't a new trend.
This land is mid it has way too many play areas and only one ride they should of put the kung fu panda ride from Hollywood where dream works destination was and put a new dreamworks show where animal actors is the theming is amazing tho
Woody Woodpecker's KidZone will always have a special place in our hearts!
I mean, it looks decent. I don’t think anyone was expecting the pinnacle of Universal’s theming ability
Yall acting like this was a supposed to be Harry Potter level. It's a kids land that was built in like 1 year, it looks fine for that.
Exactly
And it's a huge upgrade from what was there before. I'd compare it to the Moana walkthrough that was added at Epcot. Nothing I'd book a vacation for, but it adds much needed life to an outdated area.
Wow! This new land looks absolutely great!

Wow This Looks Awesome! 👍❤️🤩❤️👏

It is yet to actually open so they might put up some final touches on the place

It’s a horrible crapping off the shelf carnival. USF is not officially the worst of all universal parks.
OMG this looks like a great addition to Universal Studios 😃
Disney should take notes and add some type of shade in toystory land
SHREK BE LIKE GET OUT OF MY SWAMP!
it's amazing something so new could look so outdated
That's because it's a reskin.
Universal should have invited some vloggers with children. This would have been the true test of the land.
Agreed
I miss the ball factory… That was my favorite area as a kid…
Pretty cool!
i love it! seems fun
This is looking interesting
Shrek's Swamp and Mama Luna's house are in real life are new lands?! Cool!
this looks cool but i'll still always miss woody woodpeckers kidzone
Could use a dark ride or a carousel. But with most of the money going down the street I don't think it is that bad.
Yep. Along with a teacup spinner.
There's literally both a carousel and teacup spinner at Islands of Adventure.
@@kiwisoup I know, but the DreamWorks section could use those rides…
Look at that the entire dreamworks land has taken over woody woodpecker land
0:00 LOOK ITS SPLASH MOUNTAIN
lol 1:20-bud-wise-er!
sounds like kiss my ass
It’s a much improvement over the outdated land it replaced. It does make me wonder if eventually Toon lagoon is going to see a replacement as well.
SpongeBob would be a good replacement for that, since they can retheme Ripsaw Falls and it would still work.
I hope they just give that spit a bit of a face lift since those toons should be remembered.

1:31 and 1:36 are the farting frogs XD

Where's Ruby Gillman?
Did anyone else hear the Budweiser frogs at 1:16?!?
Yeah I did too
This looks like a step below Krabby Land

The Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone is no more. 😭😭😭😭
DREAMWORKS LAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it looks interesting the only thing i didn't like is that mama luna's house was a screen shooting gallery i wish it was a physical set shooting gallery
thats where kitty softpaws and puss hang at just looks like they wheren't out
They need a main attraction
It's technically trollercoaster
@@adamgugel4686need a dark ride
Rumor is a dark ride could down the line
Perhaps a DreamWorks Theater like at Universal Studios Hollywood?
Any dreamworks land additions in the future? Stuff from underrated movies?
It's designed for very young children, I doubt it will get many updates.
How to Train Your Dragon will open with Epic Universe. That's Dreamworks.
But should Madagascar be part of Dreamworks Land too?
They are featured in the show.
@@kiwisoup But what about for meet-and-greets besides a show?
wow this place is amazing i hope we get orgre fiona
she usually appears in the macy's parade only normal meet and greet is the human one
Maybe a Nickelodeon Universe outdoor theme park should be perfect for the Universal Orlando Resort!
@JamieGAdaire It might happen one day, once Nickelodeon turns around and that Universal Parks and Resorts partners with Nickelodeon, Cedar Fair, and Triple Five for an elaborate one-of-a-kind Nickelodeon Universe theme park that features lands and attractions themed to different Nickelodeon IPs…
what are they doing with curious george section?
It’s a kung fu panda section
I would like to go there in person.
CLAP*CLAP*CLAP*CLAP*CLAP
I was expecting some more family rides to add capacity like a few flat rides and a couple of family dark rides…
It's a kids area... Not a family area

It was not that close to being anything Nintendo.
It looks like it Six Flags tried
I hope Shrek gets his show back it was not worth taking that away from Universal
Nobody wants the Shrek show back.
Kinda has that same vibe as Pixar Pier over at DCA, but much more refined
Pfffft with the slide

This is alright, *but Shrek totally should’ve been the main focus.*
I Miss Woody woodpecker’s Kidzone.
Haha was that pcdev?
Hey you know, they couldn’t add top tier detail, remember Epic Universe?
Where is my over the hedge ride?
I think it needs another ride
I don’t think there’s enough space for another ride there
It’s weird they didn’t make Dreamworks land at Epic.
There's How To Train Your Dragon land which is Dreamworks and a lot bigger than this kids area
I’m sorry but this cannot top Woody’s KidZone
im sad they kinda took down a ton of good theming and replaced it with D grade theming...
Zero dollars diverted from epic universe for this
This radiates Krabby Land from SpongeBob energy. And no, that is not a compliment.
It's a quick fix
This land is mid it has way too many play areas and only one ride they should of put the kung fu panda ride from Hollywood where dream works destination was and put a new dreamworks show where animal actors is the theming is amazing tho
