Aspen is great. I moved out there in the early 90's from Detroit with my pal Dexter Rutecki to be ski instructors. Became the best skier on the mountain, lost ole Dex, gained a nice lady named Robin who DJ's for the local radio station and lived happily ever after.
I never cease to amaze at how thin the trees clearance is when you ski through them. Also what a legend. All the extra hiking you do to get the shots! Well done Lucas
Glad to see some stoked glade shredding. Glades are hands down my favorite, nothing beats being alone in the trees picking a line through on fresh powder
I had to comment which I genuinely never do but you truly have an underrated channel when it comes to production for your vlogs as well as the actual content. Hyped to be back skiing in Snowmass/Aspen this month!
That's the real deal, very intense there at Aspen. Enjoyed the scenery and views and you have the best cinematography, camera work, views, and storytelling of all the snow channels that I watch.
What an amazing trip! Aspen Highlands is GOAT for that hookup, and the terrain looks waaaaaaaay gnarly! Epic stuff!!! Those trees were insane tight in some areas.
Love to see you getting wined and dined now! It all started with the season passes you and your pops got for free. Aspen was like, ok we can do better... Now all the resorts should follow. Everyone wants Lucas to review their mountain and everything they have to offer. I can honestly say, that when I plan on traveling to a new resort, I look up your videos to see if you went so I can get your perspectives. You're a marketing icon now, Lucas. Run with it!
Looking good!!! What a great trip, so great to meet you! Keep up the great work and hope to do this again, ride our other two mountains! AND get you and your bike here this Summer! Keep up the great work Lucas!
Definitely found some of my favorite lines on the mountain. Seeing how you ski this definitely puts some prospective on how gnarly it is compared to something like the Jupiter lift
Incredible footage, those appear to be some serious steep zones you conquered. What a nuts hike, I got tired just watching your footage! I'll bet it was worth it! Nice job on the showcase, yewwww
Your video editing skills are on point man. Highlands is my favorite mountain to shred, definitely somewhat of a hidden gem. You did an awesome job showcasing how special the Bowl is. That second run down Temerity to the right of Kessler’s is one of my favorite lines on the mountain and you ripped it! Hell yeah keep up the good work dude.
Hey Lucas! Looks like I have to live vicariously through you for the rest of ski season. Crashed my road bike and needed Clavicle surgery. A pine cone did me in. Hit the pine cone lost control of my handle bar, hit the curb and flipped onto sidewalk. First ambulance ride. BTW, always scarred for you when you go through those narrow trees. Keep up the great vlog and please be careful.
Brother kudos and hats off to you my friend that first run on unknown terrain looked gnarly AF. Speaking of cool temps Whitefish today -2 with wind chill dipping -52!! Keep the content coming, awesome as always.
Grew up on Snowmass! Born in glenwood springs. The valley is amazing from sunlight to aspen / snowmass it’s truly a gem of a valley ! Check out sunlight’s east ridge sometime too, take a bite out of heathen it’s awesome 😎
We passed you on the side of the road on the way up to the bird this morning, tried to yell out the window but we were a little late. 😅 Conditions got a bit insane up at Mineral, I cannot believe they opened it, we got stranded for 40 minutes in -15° and 10 foot visibility...
oh man that looks great. i was out at aspen a couple years ago. really loved highlands. i'm pretty excited will be out there in about a week. going to be in utah in a few days but with the 5-7 feet of new snow on the way i'm beginning to wonder if i will even be able to ski. yeah that hike is pretty gnarly but worth it and the bowl is a lot easier when there is more coverage.
Lucas stoked to see you back in CO. Would love to see you come thru CB on the other side of the Elks. I think youd LOVE our terrain but hate our lifts (lapability).
How much does food cost in Aspen? I just checked out how much a burger was on the top of BRECK and it was $18... I did not see how big the burger was..
love your video's man! You specifically, have actually inspired me to start making my own content, I just got a whole camera and mic setup for Christmas and I'm going on a ski trip this weekend! Keep up the amazing work brotha!
Skiing is a dangerous game. Ski patrol does their absolute best to mitigate avalanche risk for us resort skiers but that risk is NEVER zero. There is always a possibility of avalanche danger. It is truly an awful situation and my heart goes out to the family of the skier who was going out to ski for the day and never returned back home. Extremely sad.
Hey Mate, love the vids. Just 1 question? If you had to choose 1 mountain, and one town, and money wasn't an option, where would you choose to ski for the rest of your life. All the best.
looks so sick! this series convinced me to do my first aspen days in mid feb this year :) I'm curious about these mountain collabs - do you license out any of the footage you get on the trip for their marketing teams? or do you keep sole ownership over all of it and they just get the mentions etc?
this was only my second time ever doing anything like this, but there hasnt been any licensing of my footage to the resorts. they just organize a few fun days and i make videos on each day in return! pretty casual!
Having hiked the bowl a few weeks ago massive respect for doing it with all the camera work as well - must’ve been tough. Envious of your conditions tho way better than when I skied it haha. Are you still having issues pre releasing or have they been sorted?
I can't be the only one that thinks ski boots on hardpack is up there with nails on a chalkboard. I rush to get my skis on whenever I have to walk through it!
This is my favorite ski area in North America, but @lucasCatania17, why not show the people how much it costs to park at Aspen Highlands, especially if you don't have an electric car and don't have three buddies with you?
isn't off piste equivalent to the highlands bowl not really a thing in europe? or you need a guide usually because it's not as avy controlled / there can be crevasses etc? just what i've heard. but it hasn't seemed like just any resort visitor can get this type of terrain in europe like in western north america also pretty much no one pays those day pass prices here, we buy season passes for $600-900
@@dg6226 those season passes' prices make more sense. I usually pay between 70 to 80$ (with taxes 😉) for a day. In Europe (at least in the Swiss alps) a small number of resorts have controlled freeride runs, but they are accessible directly from gondolas.
Bro are you sponsored by Audi now??! jk but really, this vid is a pretty awesome example of a resort and a "stoke influencer" coming together via marketing dollars. Let's goooooooo!!
a truly once in a lifetime experience all thanks to aspen snowmass! hope you guys enjoy the video and throw highland bowl on your ski bucket list!
Awesome man! Love the cinematic parts (where u walk to and from the camera) and the effort for them since u have to walk back and get it xD
Congrats on the new sponsor! Stepping up your game. 🤙
I’m going there February 17th

@aspensnowmass what's and where is the steepest slope at Highlands?
@@Gabrocol Be One (pretty much fall-line from the top of Highlands Bowl) tips out at around 40 degrees.

I never cease to amaze at how thin the trees clearance is when you ski through them. Also what a legend. All the extra hiking you do to get the shots! Well done Lucas
thanks man! was a fun day out there from the tree skiing to the hike!
You know you're doing it right when Aspen is hooking you up with that kind of luxury. The highest honor for a US based skier. Keep up the good work!!
thank you! totally honored to be invited out by the aspen snowmass.
my dude basically hiked the bowl twice to get all of that b-roll, and the end result was epic. Beast.
someones gotta do it!
I was thinking the same. Lol
Love the silent soundtrack for all those shots hiking in the bowl. Combined with the skies and the scenery, felt like a Coen brothers movie.
Glad to see some stoked glade shredding. Glades are hands down my favorite, nothing beats being alone in the trees picking a line through on fresh powder

Nice tour of the mountain and you do love the trees. Nice skiing and I'm sure my legs would have been jello before lunch. Thanks for the video.
Loving the frequent uploads! Stoked for the snow in utah this weekend!
