This song makes me think of two criminals that used to love each other and be partners in crime and set up a racket or mafia in a city together, but one of them started to drift away from their business when they found something new, and they no longer trust each other. Either one could turn the other in to the police, so they're having a standoff and somebody might die before they can run away.
i was a bit scared to comment this but this song really means a lot to me; the lyrics remind me of last year when i was in a very bad and unhealthy relationship with my ex and i kept trying to make it work when in reality it was destroying me from the inside. a lot happened during that time but im slowly recovering and getting better and trusting people again and this song is a reminder of how far ive come =) maybe its a bit silly but ty mother mother for making this song🙏
This song gives me the feeling conflict, secrets and people being able to fly. It reminds me of nostalgia, of things that can't be returned, of autumn, and of places we shouldn't be. It gives me the feeling of a past I never had and a kinship with such depth, loyalty, and understanding that it's for sure something I've never known. It reminds me of old detective stories and mutual destruction. Of shared experiences and new mysteries. It reminds me of people and the feeling that comes with attachments to both memories & places. It reminds me of all that should be, or has, but isn't anymore. It shakes me to my core with false hope. Does anybody else get these kinds of sensations and feelings of nostalgia, or is it just me?
man i love this song. and this band in general. while im very happy that some of their songs exploded on tiktok during quarantine (i think mostly hayloft and burning pile?), i'm sad that most of their other songs remain unknown, like this masterpiece i really wish their other stuff would get more popular too and great video btw!
This song is painfully underrated
