    All Niko is doing by standing is helping Rishi win. More Labour voters will vote for him and that will split the vote

      The only people who will vote for him are under 25s who otherwise wouldn’t have voted at all. Rishi will win that seat either way

    People don't like 0 hour contracts because how do you pay rent,bills, survive when your employer decides next week your earning nothing as they aren't obliged to give you a guaranteed wage.
    It's fine if your a 16 year old boy living at mum and dads and it's extra pocket money but when you have monthly liabilities to pay out those guaranteed hours are the difference between you paying rent or being homeless.

      Also I remember working for amazon where I would travel around a hour to get to work for a night shift and they would decide sometimes as I got there if they needed me for the shift that night. All the public transport was done for the night so I had to get a taxi home so my job was actually costing me time and money because the mega corporate employers couldn't organise themselves 🫠

      Absolutely, proddy really doesn’t unders the reality of the situation, albeit due to him only being 16. But the impact for an adult with bills to pay is real

      @@HarveyC119don’t work on a zero hours contract as an adult then

    • @jhughes344
      @jhughes344 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @alfred6272 that's true but there's such a high supply of these zero hour contracts in the labour market. This is due to the fact, that employers will hire far more people on 0 hour contracts for greater flexibility in reducing liabilities to boost profit margins, so some of the labour market demand has to take these unfavourable jobs regardless if they want them or not just to get income.

    I think proddy really misrepresented the problems of a zero hour contract. Considering he only seen the positives as he was 15/16 on one.

    All Niko standing does is split the younger voters from most likely labour and means Rishi will win. In our voting system (FPTP) it will be a two-horse race in most constituencies and you have to tactically vote for who you want or don't want to win.
