hi, great video! I was just wondering, at the bottom of the auger there is plastic, i just wanted to know if that affects the quality of the grind at all, also do you freeze that part before grinding as well?
The only things I put in the freezer before grinding is the knife blade and the grinder plate. So far I have been extremely happy with this grinder. Thank you so much for watching this video and for your feedback.
Awesome video, the food pedal isn't something I even knew existed but I gotta get both of these now. Last week I bought a $50 meat grinder at Harbor Freight, for $50 it's pretty impressive IMHO. I was also impressive at how damn loud it is, this sounds like an electric can opener as opposed to mine that sounds like a wood chipper lol.
@@thisgrilllife7447 Thanks for the response! I ordered one and looking forward to it. I do 1/2 beefs (have one coming soon) and every butcher refuses to listen to me when I say 70/30 hamburger. Seems like it’s always 85/15 if I’m lucky or something between 90/10 and 95/5 if I’m not. Figured I’d save myself the grief and grind it the way I like it and take the butcher out of the equation. 😁
One important suggestion! Wash with dawn an dry. Only use silicone for storage and wash before contact with food. Lightly oil white plastic bushing all over with any oil you would "eat", during grinding. The silicone is not ment to be ingested.
Paul, because the meat has gristle and fat it’s harder to push through the finer plate. Also you get any seasoning (sausage) mixed better throughout the second grind. The motor definitely works easier by doing 2 grinds
I’m not sure. If I was going to grind chicken wings I would want the model with more horsepower. I would imagine if you are grinding wings, the blade would probably need to be sharpened often. You might want to look into a more commercial use model.
Well done, thanks for the effort with the video. I just purchased the same #8 but in the dual grind model, I’ll be using it to process venison. One observation/question. The LEM assembly videos say to tighten the collar holding the plates only hand tight, and them to back it off slightly to give additional clearance so when you grind it doesn’t “over tighten”. I’m curious if you are using this process on your model?
Do u believe it's worth the money? We have the same brand smaller model and did 60lb, and motor went poop 💩... we have 100 plus lb gane meat year to do. Iso is the best grinder to get :) Thank you for your video
Crystal, I have been extremely impressed with the quality of this grinder. I don’t do nearly a hundred lbs at a time though. You might want to consider the 3/4 Hp model for a larger grind.
Your one negative comment is addressed in LEM's "How-To" video. At 3:35 in the video they tell you to "screw on retaining ring to finger tight, then back it off slightly." th-cam.com/video/Vc6rXR0Mk5g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0ZTXTlUKlG_imtPu&t=213
We are thinking about purchasing a LEM. Your video certainly has helped us in our decision. Thanks Tony!
D!!! I’m glad to hear that. I’m very happy with it. I would definitely recommend it. Hope all is well with you and John. ❤️

JR!! Thank You for your feedback. I definitely recommend this grinder. You’re right, the foot pedal is really awesome
This looks like a solid machine! I am curious to know how the sausage stuffing aspect works. A do-it-all machine would suit my needs nicely!
My last grinder worked well for making sausage, this will be much better. Especially with the foot pedal
Thanks for the introduction to this machine. Back and forth between this and a cheaper well rated product. Think this is the ticket.
Jim!! I did a lot of research before buying this and it really seemed like the best value. I’ve been extremely happy with this purchase.

@@jimtipton8888 congratulations!!
It’s going to be great to be able to mix your grind the way YOU want it!!
That bowl seems to be the perfect size. Also LEM?
Great job!

TK!! Actually the bowl is from a set of various size stainless steel bowls. But you’re right, it’s the perfect size for the grinder!!
Just used one of these last weekend making turkey sausage worked great.
Nice!!! It definitely works well!!
Thanks for all your tips!
Thank you for watching!!🙏🏼🙏🏼
Is it holding up good ? I plan on buying one.
Definitely holding up!! I’m really happy with the quality of this grinder. Absolutely worth the money!!!
I hope you got it on cyber Monday. I did!!
@@Mark2448 Nice!!

👍💯 Absolutely
What's the benefit of doing the course grind first?
Paul, because the meat has gristle and fat it’s harder to push through the finer plate. Also you get any seasoning (sausage) mixed better throughout the second grind. The motor definitely works easier by doing 2 grinds
@@thisgrilllife7447 thanks. I haven't made sausage yet, and I've never ground anything with gristle in it, but that does make sense.
Have you found this to be dishwasher safe? I am reading different things online about that. Thanks! Great video!
Paul, Thank you. I have not tried putting it in the dishwasher. I’ve read it is not recommended
Will this grind chicken bones ie chicken wings?

Eric!! Thank You so much. You are correct. I did not see that video until it over tightened on me.
@@thisgrilllife7447 Thanks for the update, I wasn’t looking forward to taking it apart each time with a mallet :). Thanks again for the video.

can it grind chicken bones?
It probably will. It would be hard on the knife bade though. I would was the 3/4 hp model if I was grinding chicken bones
Next video should be how well you CLEANED you grinder 😁
