    i have concerns about Lee Anderson's ability to articulate clearly. I'm just imagining TV debates and Andrew Neil style grilling. We need the right people in place who can articulate clearly the arguments because if they can get that right then im absolutely sure that they could beat all expectations and win over people who are not as politically aware. Reform stood their top candidate at the last by election and threw everything they had at it. This was a safe tory seat where the tories screwed up. It was Reform's best chance for a top performance and they still only managed half the votes the tories got and a long way behind Labour.
    It seems Reform are extremely popular within a certain demographic but just don't have the appeal to a wide enough pool of voters. The only way to win elections is to get the swing voters in the center and at the moment, they are going to Labour.

    • @lucajohnson8318
      @lucajohnson8318 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There is some truth to what you say Steve, without a doubt. From what I can tell though, the numbers reveal that Labour only picked up an additional 110ish votes in the constituency from the last election. The Tory voters just stayed at home. Many went to Reform UK, but as you say, not enough. For one, the party just doesn't have the infrastructure and resources that the main parties do. Look at the history of the Labour party. It took 27 years from their founding in 1900 to their election win in 1927, and even that was as a minority government. These changes are never over night. I personally think they need a better, more charismatic leader than Tice to sell their policies but that's for them to figure out. What I'm certain of, is that everyday, more and more people up and down the country are seeking a serious replacement for the Conservative party, which is rotten with corruption, betrayal and negligence.

    • @stevec6427
      @stevec6427 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @lee9709 The turn out at both byelections was around 40% which is pretty typical for byelections, not low at all. Byelections are generally when parties get a boost from people turning out to vote against the incumbent and not turning out to vote for them. That should increase Reform's vote share against the tories which suggests that they'll do less well in an election

    • @stevec6427

      @@lucajohnson8318 What it looks like to me is that Reform are mostly taking Conservative voters, maybe a few Labour voters and with the current polls, even allowing a fairly large margin for error, that cannot lead to a victory for Reform or Conservatives. I'm fairly sure that Conservatives are the main reason for the rise of Reform, by pushing the culture wars they're just pushing more of their voters over to Reform who can out do the tories in that particular area. Most tory MP's aren't interested in the culture war, their concern is right wing economic policy so they keep quiet on the only area their leadership is pushing.
