Bereits viele hochranginge Künstler haben Andrew Lloyd Webbers Fassung von „Pie Jesu“ aufgenommen, Gregorian aber haben sich dem Klassiker nun mit einem ganz besonderen Ansatz gewidmet und Kontratenor Narcis als Gast mit an Bord geholt. Im Rahmen des neuen Albums „Pure Chants“ verleiht der erfolgreichste Chor der Welt dem Song einen puristischen gregorianischen Glanz und liefert damit den Soundtrack zum Weihnachtsfest.

Hard to believe this beautiful song is actually a modern piece. It has such an ancient feel to it. I started crying by the end of the second word, and said a prayer for all my family who are no longer in my life, only in my memories.

It would behoove someone to hear the actual CD of this on a high end audio with tube amplifiers, band pass bass boxes and tuned speakers with woofers and tweeter tuned crossovers. Sounds like thunder at the right time and you feel it in your body. Truly, literally moving. Just headphones is awesome but need the full audio equipment stipulated to be literally moved.
Better on live concert. They are on tour now and last saturday had a luck to hear Gregorian concert live. What an angelic voices! Tickets are on the expensive side but well worth a visit.
