So beautifully done. I haven't had accordion for 30 years, but since two years and youtube I have travelled the world watching Accordion Videos. I think there is a Dutch group that specializes in Tejano music.
Excellent interview by Leonardo :Flaco" Jimenez. This man is he best ever, no one can compare to him. There will never be another like Flaco in San Antonio. Best Norteno music. Love this man.
My dad Mike Gutierrez was also one of the original greatest accordion players born in 1915 in Kingsville TX. He played his 3 row button accordion thru his whole life up to the last week he took his last breath. He lived to be 105. Don Mike. My Dad. El Rey de Las Mujeres. 👍😎🤠✌️
I grew up listening to the New Mexico music and my introduction to the "Tejano" music with accordion was when I was stationed with the Navy at the Corpus Christi Naval Air station in 1960 and heard the 'King Of The Mexican or Chicano Accordian" Flaco Jimenez. At that time the popular musicians/singers were Little Joe, Agustin Ramirez, Sonny Ozuna, Freddy Martinez and Joe Bravo. I got to like that Tejano "TexMex" music that these guys played, even though it was similar to our New Mexico music played by Al Hurricane and his sons in the 1960s. Many years later, Ramon Ayala left the popular group "Los Relampagos Del Norte" and eventually became popular by playing music with accordion.
Thanks for posting ! I learned a lot today ! We humans will always learning each and everyday until the end comes . I will go out and have a beer to my Mexican and Chicano friends . I am one and the Same .
This documentary is a very excellent example of the "Tejano" or "TexMex" music with accordian and I hope it helps to elucidate our 'NonHispanic friends and neighbors of the origin of that unique according music of South Texas.
This piece of history is amazing. Thank you for sharing. It hits home in so many ways.

EXCELLENT DOCUMENTARY!I especially appreciate the comments of the proud Mexican, Juan Tejeda and the world's greatest accordionist, Flaco Jimenez.
World greatest? Maybe the best in regional Mexican music but in my opinion Jo Privat is the worlds greatest accordion player. Check him out.
