I saw Diamond Head three times back in 82-83 this vid is nothing compared to watching them live.Sean Harris was one of the best front men ever and i've seen a few in fact the band were just amazing...the sad thing was that when the original drummer and bassist packed it in they were never really the same band again...but in saying that the Canterbury album was amazing and so ahead of it's time!!

Watched these guys play 3 gigs in the early 80,s and their ability to get the whole place rockin from start to finish, was the equal of any band i've seen live - and i've seen em all !

Because of treacherous family member management of the band and their affairs, when really - it should have been handled by a professional in the industry. and probably not touring the hell out of the US at the start of their career, thats how bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden had them licked!

My understanding is that when metallica first started "covering" diamond head songs, they only said it was a cover if someone asked (at their shows). I remember reading a quote from James more or less saying this. Kill Em All is basically one big Diamond Head ripoff...
yeah essentially metallica was a big ripoff before burton. burton really made them go big and then they just continued on with mindless riffs with no real substance. the only musician of any substance in metallica is kirk hammett but his brilliance seems to get lost in the hetfield machine.
