    The ending orchestral section is a precursor to the last song on the album Lune. The song The Way the News Goes also has a hint towards Lune as well. Their double album Juggernaut Alpha and Omega has a ton of different reprises and foreshadowing to melodies and lyrical themes that keep coming back throughout.
    It’s also funny that you mention Dream Theater, because one of the guitarists is also John Petrucci’s nephew.

    This is actually a really old riff that guitarist Misha Mansoor had created in his youtube days and gave it to spencer to work his magic on it, and he fucking nailed it, unbelievable how dynamic the melody and lyrical structure hes able to apply to it, plus adding so much passion, love it

      @@jonathanchandler9310 Actually, this goes farther back than Misha's youtube! Jake Bowen wrote the original chorus riff from this in Highschool before showing Misha years later and he put his little twist on it. So technically... Absolomb is the oldest Periphery song ^-^

    That was a really good tune. It's like a flavor variety pack, something for everyone. I would like to have seen them condense it closer to 5 minutes, but sometimes 7 lbs of stuff just won't fit into a 5 lb sack. As always, another great analysis. Oh, what's with the lighting? You guys have a light box rig, don't you? Way too good. Props to the gaffer. Also I want to strongly suggest Gary Clark Jr.'s "Pearl Cadillac". Trust me.

    Might be the playback, but there's a few too many effects on the vocals. Not talking about pitch correction. I don't know what the word is. What's the vocal equivalent to fuzz on guitars? Other than that, there's pretty much everything in here in terms of dynamics, breaks, tempo changes...I think? There's a song in this, compared to that TesseracT video I've just watched. That outro - no matter if it's a transition or not - is very subdued and simple in comparison. Could do without.
    Mentioned it several times, but the only band I listened to that compares to this is Oceansize.

    • @Brax1982
      @Brax1982 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like TesseracT, now I also love Periphery, of course. They seem like twin bands. However, they have far more tracks with harsher vocals which I cannot take. This song is one of their best and most complex. And yes, it IS the playback. The album track is fine.
