    3D Modeling Blueprint : th-cam.com/video/jzUOkmLyTm4/w-d-xo.html
    After using Bosch's portable table saw, GTS 10XC, I finally used the table saw of the casting body. It feels like I've replaced my previous compact car with a large sedan.
    I like it even though it's not a slide table saw. Actually, sliding products seem to be too expensive. The saw machine is thousands of dollars.
    I work a lot on making idea products with small materials, so I thought small size was enough, but when I saw the new product, I wondered how I had worked so far.
    I was so happy that I decided to apply new systems to the table saw.
    There must be a reason for everything I've done so far, but I wanted to put that aside and try new things.
    The first is the upper dust collection system made of transparent acrylic. The purpose was to minimize fine dust flying toward the worker's face, and to make it transparent to secure a view.
    You can check this process in other videos.
    th-cam.com/video/HPt1LUeNJU8/w-d-xo.html
    The second one is the table saw sled.
    This is an item that 99% of table saws make and use by themselves.
    It is a necessary aid to safely cut small components.
    I made it with transparent acrylic. There are many advantages.
    First of all, it's transparent, so you can see the blade of the table saw very clearly.
    It means that you can work more comfortably and safely.
    And because of the nature of the material, it is less sensitive to changes in moisture and temperature than wood.
    There is little deformation through contraction or expansion. This also increases accuracy.
    The lower rail also uses metal, so there is little clearance.
    Some of you might be worried that the dust will stick to you because of static electricity, as you can see from the video, the dust on the wood hardly sticks.
    There is a smooth double-sided tape attached to the bottom, so there is no static electricity when moving. The metal plate on the floor also holds static electricity.
    Although it weighs about 20% more than trees of the same size, the sled shows more stable movement. It's not hard to do a round trip at all.
    Please refer to the production process and I hope more people make it and use it.
    It's a gift for everyone in the world who loves DIY and woodworking. Thank you.

    The project is interesting, although it will be very expensive, and making it out of wood will have the same results.

      I respect minimalism, and I also like the hands of artisans who create great works with only hand tools. But I am an inventor. I try to show subscribers a new concept with new materials. I try to make new uses and jigs even on the same machine. Even if it is different from the direction you want, there will be many works that you can fully enjoy. Let's travel with me. By the way, looking at this work, acrylic is a lot expensive. There will be a lot of static electricity. The acrylic will bend later. There are people who say this.

    Good to see some one else making their jigs out of something other than wood. Start using HDPE over a year ago, best decision I have made in my wood shop. The material is perfect for the applications. Up front cost is a little pricey, However: over the years of making jigs over and over because of moisture in wooden jigs, causing warping, bowing and cracking, the cost of HDPE was justifiable. If there is someone out there starting up in woodworking or an old pro, you might want to look in to wood alternatives.

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_ ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you already made a sled out of HDPE and used it? You are more experienced than me. Your point is correct. Wood warps or bends. It is very sensitive to moisture. This is the opportunity for me to make a sled with acrylic. It is also transparent, so you can clearly see the table saw blade. As you said, the initial cost seems to be fully compensated by accuracy and convenience. Thank you for your thoughtful comments.

    Did you consider using acrylic solvent to bond pieces, to reduce the need for so many screws?

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your point is correct. I've considered that too. However, I used screws from three perspectives.
      When I applied the transparent liquid-type bond to the acrylic, it flowed on its own regardless of my will. And it seemed to leave a bond mark.
      I wasn't sure about the adhesive strength. If the adhesive comes off while working, it can be very dangerous.
      I thought that using screws would be less aesthetically pleasing than bond. It was fine. It also looks good on its own.
      I think a variety of perspectives are one of the strengths of TH-cam, and I appreciate your points in that respect.

    That is a lovely design but isn't the idea of this kind of structures to protect the user from the exposed blade? The blade is still exposed (at least the half of it) after the back fence passes on it. Maybe putting an extra guard there can solve the problem. Not everyone is professional or careful as you can be.

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_ ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are talking about having to install a defense in front so that the saw blade is not visible, I will refer to that and use it for the next production.

    Next up... aluminum!

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_ ปีที่แล้ว

      When making a sled for a table saw, the final task is to drill a hole in the sled while raising the saw blade. Not only is it a woodworking saw, but you can't work with a metal saw blade either. It's not an RPM that can use a saw blade for metal. It can be very dangerous.
      I will answer seriously. thank you

    • @EcoMouseChannel
      @EcoMouseChannel ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kynosys_ With steel, no you shouldn't. The RPMs are too high even if carbide tipped. However with Aluminum all woodworking tools can cut and carve perfectly fine. The only risk with non-aluminum specific blades, is you run the risk of gumming up the teeth with aluminum if you push it too much and heat both the blade and aluminum too high. But a few cuts here and there are no big deal!
      Here, we can buy 10" table saw blades specifically for non-ferrous metals, and they aren't too expensive. But if you are just making a one time item, and the blades are priced too high, you can get by without using one.
      An aluminum table saw sled is actually better, because you can use as thin as 4mm to 6mm for the base. This increases your cut capacity over a wood or in your case an acrylic sled. I'd imagine that your acrylic sled attracts tons of dust from static electricity... and you have to constantly blow it off.
      If I were to make an aluminum sled, I'd go with the split table design. So there is no fence on the front side, for larger pieces, infinite cross cut width. The right side of the blade stays in pace, locked into the track just to keep a zero kerf and material height the same as the moving part of the sled. Just a thought, for another project. So you have two sleds, each serving different purposes. Or sell one of them to make a profit.

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EcoMouseChannel First of all, I would like to apologize to Paul Sullivan. Since you mentioned aluminum in your first short post, I thought you were joking a little bit.
      After reading this long article by Eco Mouse, You seem to be an expert in the metal field. It would look great if it was made out of aluminum. If I get a chance, I really want to make it too.
      As for saw blades, I am fortunate to have the knowledge to overcome the problem.
      And, your concerns that dust will stick to the acrylic are true. I expected it to be inevitable because of static electricity. Still, it seems that the various advantages obtained from transparency outweigh the problem.
      Thank you very much for your sincere advice.

  • @fritzgutten1

    I'll just go ahead and assume you've never had a chunk of acrylic explode while cutting it. wear armor while using this please. Edit for clarity, this protection should be worn in the gut and groin areas.

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_ 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is an accurate fact that your consideration of the risks of equipment made from new materials requires sufficient discussion. However, thanks to the weight of the acrylic and the precision of the rails, my sled will not twist. If the saw blade breaks or becomes loose and becomes dangerous, it's not a problem with my acrylic sled, but the table saw itself, and that's the same problem no matter what sled you use.
      And you're worried about my groin, but since it's on the underside of the table saw, I'd rather protect my face.
      Anyway, thank you.
