Dzamling Chisang, or World Sang Offering Day, commemorates Guru Rinpoche’s subjugation of the local deities and the founding of the Samye Monastery in Tibet. Traditionally it is celebrated on the 15th day of the fifth Bhutanese/Tibetan lunar month, which this year falls tomorrow on Saturday June 22.
On this day, monastic and lay Vajrayana practitioners gather on hilltops to make extensive and joyful offerings of Riwo Sangchö to local deities and earth spirits. However, extreme care should be taken so there is no Fire outbreak.
Riwo Sangchö is a practice for healing our environment, repaying karmic debts to beings of the six realms, healing all kinds of negative situations.
