I just can support your opinion with Android for Audio Recording. I use an iPhone 8 as Daily Driver and have a Galaxy a40 with a broken screen. I had to do a podcast on the go, where I needed two mics (XM8500 with UMC22 and Tonor TC40). I used the Rode Recorder App on both devices. Where I could power the UMC22 with the Galaxy, I needed a powered adapter with the iPhone and with the iPhone it was a hassle, because it didn’t always work. So I used the iPhone with powered Adapter for the TC40. But I will still keep my iPhone and will always have an Android Phone as a Backup. 😅
Its a good point about Android...will have to have a look at what apps are available. As a musician who likes to record sometimes in ios ( ipad mainly) it pretty much about the garageband..comes with the phone/ipad and its pretty powerfull for knocking out songs..not perfect and you wouldn't do a finished song, but for laying down ideas its pretty good. I been messing around with recording on ipads/iphones since 2010..you can pretty use any interface as long as you got a powered usb hub and the camera/audio adapter...bit messy, and sucks that apple always find ways to make you spend extra.. but it works. So bottom line for me its about the apps on ios than the actual hardware. I'm not an apple fanboy, i use win10 pc in my studio, because apple is over-priced and undergunned on pc format.
I use my andriod phone and the macbook for my podcast. Ironically enough Andriod is better than the iphone and ipad for recording podcast it's way more convenient and inexpensive
I know most people probably couldn’t care less but I really dislike interface with front facing XLR inputs. Just love the clean look of rear ones like most Audient interface
I actually am with you 100% on that. I have the Tascam as the digital part of my chain from a shure M367 mixer... And I hate the xlr running from front to back.... Around my desk and to my boom arm.... Really wish the xlr was on back
7:10 That's exactly the phone I have !!! I've been testing my laptop & different cameras to start creating YT content but the picture quality is so bad, I refuse to produce 2008 YT picture quality in 2023 .. LOL. And obviously, I'm here learning about which microphone to use as all the ones I have are about as bad as my image quality. Anyways, I'm all excited & posting comments before your video ends. HAHAHA
3:44 I beg to differ. I think your video quality is damn good. Can you please do a video showing how you get this quality green screening & lighting to work this good ? If you've already made one.. I apologize, I've only just found you 27 minutes before this comment. If so , link me please & ty. Great Videos btw 👍👍👍
I like the looks of the Tascam interface also. I seem to remember buying a 2x2HR but in my pile of stuff I haven't opened yet. Seems like there's a Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen in the pile also. 🤔
While I'm thinking about it, I have an Audient EVO4 that's out of the box and not in use. I'll see if I can use that with my iPhone and an SM 57 or something.
@@ObscureMics it works with a Blue snowball and the M-Audio solo with a dynamic mic but won't support 48v phantom power. It also won't power the EVO-4 with anything.
@@ObscureMics Everything seems fine except for monitoring. Can't seem to figure it out! Hear playback fine, but not monitoring. Will have to keep tinkering...
Yes, I love the 2x2. Performance is great and the price is a lot lower than others in the same class. Sure, I wish it had independently switched phantom power, but it's not that big of deal for me.
7:29 only in ohio Jokes aside, I'm about to buy a 1x2hr to use with my ev re20, glad to find a recent video featuring it, might try recording with my android too. Hopefully i get a lot of use out of it, thing's got great reviews so far
Heck yes on the Tascam! They have great preamps and build quality.
Heck yeah. I love their recording gear.... Hate their microphones lol

Can't argue with any of that.... As I do love GarageBand.

I STILL plug directly into that Samsung to make videos half the time. It's GOOD ENOUGH for my small channel. Appreciate you watching and commenting!

Hmmmm. Have you downloaded the software for it yet?
@@ObscureMics Good advice. That's exactly what I found out. I need to download the app or softwhere to select the channels to monitor
🤜🤛 let's hook up on a video call soon

Thankya sir
How do you hook it to the phone?? And what app do you use for video editing and recording???
I use the rode reporter app to record. I do not edit with phone. I upload to the cloud and then edit on my macbook
Tascam is top of the line 👊
It's great stuff
I'm definitely a tascam guy
Very nice interface for the price indeed. Looks very sturdy.
